Hi guys,

Lots of you (and me) seem to be very focus on increasing Followers base, with the idea this will bring more likes...

In my 6 month FL experience I grew from 0 to 44K followers, and yes likes/pic where going up in average... but from 10 to 800 likes/ media, comments from 2-45 / media

Is this a good engagement?? I have to say to myself.. NO is terrible!

Lately I've seen 10K accs having 1,5K likes (double than me)

Instagram have changed alorithym and hammering bots

And my conclusion (maybe I'm wrong) is: If you are out of populars page (recomened etc..) You are more or less out of the game... NO Matter how many Followers you got.

How can I get more engagment? that's my first goal now... And I still don't know...

thanks for reading and sorry for my bad english :p

I think if you use the same hashtags over and over, and spam-like, you're less likely to get on the popular page, or appear on hashtags. Slow your settings or lay off the botting and keep the liking low for a while, it should help. It did for me

It doesn't have to be Instagram always to blame, maybe it's your content that you post not that interesting to the followers?

It really depends on a lot of factors, how targeted your followers are, are there any fake ones etc.

I don't use hashtags, I do likes a relevant account follower's, but yes I think you are right, too long with same settings day over day...
I have stop boting since last friday and my average went down from 900 likes to 700 likes, but is too soon to make conclusions ;-)

I agree it depends on other factors, I've take it into account.

The content we are publishing is original and quite good and I compare with similar accounts similar content and they got 1000 likes with less followers...

My guess is that since I was targeting big fashion blogging accounts, and they were full of man from (India, or whatever), profiles that follows 5000 people or something, this has gave me bad profile followers..

To me it seems likely given the factors you have presented(specifically that you have a larger fan base, and higher quality content than your competitors) - your competitors are using bots to artificially inflate their like counts or other user interactions. They have a more versatile bot setup and network than you do, and it flies under the radar better. If you do not think this is the case, I encourage you to VISIT the pages of their fan-base. I'm sure within ten profiles you will identify some commonalities between the profiles themselves, posting activity, or specific user-engagement. These are some of the tell-tale signs of a modestly designed bot network.

If your competitors followers are real you will not see these consistencies as much, and posts themselves will often readily reflect the user's personality. I have no doubt based on what you have said though that your competitor is implementing a bot solution better than you are currently.

I do agree with dangreenhill plus making sure your content is what your followers want to see. I think some of your followers are probably accounts like you said that follow for follow alot of people so they won't see your posts on their feed. Furthermore I guess you could try and encourage people to like or comment in the description by telling them to "tag a friend" or "double tap if..."

What's your method of scraping potential users? IMO, if you change/improve that, then it could improve your user engagement.

Look around for what kind of images and videos the popular accounts are posting along with the hashtags they use. I won't say copy them blatantly but learn from them. Post attractive and eye catching images and use description which will make viewers like and comment on the pictures.

I would also suggest you to check out the BHW Marketplace, there are quite some unique services which will provide you active Instagram followers which Like and Comment on all your pictures which will help in increasing the engagement as well.
