It's an emergency - Updated

NEW UPDATE:

I just got off the phone with the nurse, and they respected my request and have now brought the baby close to my wife. She is heavily sedated, so she can't hold the baby, but at least he is next to her..... It will be a hell of a bond when they pull through. The baby that almost took her life, also saved her :)

That will be a story to tell, and I pray that I will get that chance :)

Thanks to those who mentioned that to me :)

Thoughts and prayers go to you and your family, Congratulation on your baby boy.

I hope they both pull through, your wife will be able to take on anything after this!

Congratulations on Jaylen and I hope that both yourself and your family are okay.

Wishing you the all the best and a speedy recovery to your wife :)

Another Update:

I just spoke with my wife for the first time since it happened! I mean, I spoke to her last night at the hospital, but it was mainly me talking and her almost wondering who I was..... This time she was able to speak and I was able to relieve her stress by letting her know that me and our oldest boy have everything under control at home, and that she only needs to worry about getting her blood pressure down so she can come home.

She had questions about what happened in the seizure, but I didn't want to go into that with her now. I just told her that everything will be ok and I will explain it all when she is safe at home...

Just Like A Movie

A while back, my wife was watching a movie with queen latifa in it, where the daughter had medical problems and (ironically ended up dying during child birth)... Anyways, I told my wife while watching that movie that the actress and her had striking resemblances. Well, at one point in the movie the girl was at the salon getting her hair done and all of a sudden she started talking weird and then had a seizure (I teared up watching the scene because I thought of it like it was my wife in that situation)... This is EXACTLY what happened with my wife. She started talking real weird, then shaking violently. And her eyes grew very large, and I had a flashback from that movie because she looked EXACTLY as the girl did in the movie (big eyes, baby like facial expressions, and all).

I don't remember the name of the movie, but if any of you can find it, you need to watch that scene, and it would be like seeing what I seen yesterday morning.

Very happy to hear about the progress with your Wife! As you said, you take care of the homefront, let her concentrate on getting better. Hopefully she will be home with all of you soon.

Great news but we will continue to pray until she's safely home once again. :D

Thanks so much for the update James. I've been checking this thread every hour hoping for some good news. We're all worried over here also. I can't imagine what you've been through. Keep up the encouraging words to your wife and let her know all is taken care of. I know she is probably worried sick about the babies she's usually taking care of 24/7. Keep reassuring her they're ok and to get some rest.

I'm sure her spending time with the new baby will encourage her to get better and out of there more than anything.

Thanks for the update mate.

James,

I am truly praying that things for you, your wife, and new born progress positively. I sent many prayers for you because you are one of most valued, reliable, and honest members on this forum. One of the VERY few to gain my respect. Congratulations on your new born and STAY POSITIVE. We're all here for you and your family.

Wow buddy, thats a hard time your going through,
I really wish your wife a speedy recovery and hope she is back to
full health soon. In the meantime try and be optimistic and don't let it get to you
I know people are pulling or your wife but I am pulling for you as well, as you will
be the forgotten party in this and it can take its toll.

Regarding jaundice, its not a bad thing if the hospital get it early enough, so there
should be nothing to worry about on that behalf.

Wishing you and your family all the best and hope to hear some more good news soon.

Jaylen has a great dad. Hope everything's looking good James buddy.

If her mother or sister are there, tell them to rest the baby on her chest and keep their hands on his back so he doesn't fall off. It was something about the hearts beating together or something like that.

2011nfl, the movie was Steel Magnolias. It was an excellent movie with an amazing cast. I found the clip you are referring to. Queen Latifah did the remake. This is the clip from the original movie. http://movieclips.com/LAcr-steel-magnolias-movie-too-much-insulin/

Yes. except it was the new version. here is the clip from that

It was alot like this as far as the talking weird and the way she looked, but it was way more intense..... She was actually on the floor in a full blown seizure. But this clip does remind me of it very much, because of the similarities.

Thanks for the memory refresh on the name of the movie :)

Just spoke with my wife again

I just spoke with my wife again, and her blood pressure has now went down to 157 over 97 (stage 1 high). When she went in she was somewhere between stage 3 and stage 4. I'm not sure exactly what her pressure was then, but I will find out later.

Last week on Friday I went over to go check on my grandma because everyone was saying that she was talking funny. I wasn't there even 5 minutes and she started having a violent seizure. She went unconscious after the seizure and finally woke up two days later. Her speech was still slurred but another day later and it fully returned. They found she got meningitis which caused the blood sugar to drop super low ultimately causing the seizure.

Well I hope that your wife also fully recovers as my 77 year old grandmother has.

Just spoke with my wife again

I just spoke with my wife again, and her blood pressure has now went down to 157 over 90 (stage 1 high). When she went in she was somewhere between stage 3 and stage 4. I'm not sure exactly what her pressure was then, but I will find out later.
Here is a chart that explains the stages:
Code:
http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/medicine/blood-pressure.htm

There would be many other sites with a better description, but it was the first one I found that'd be useful for any layman.

BTW, the diastolic pressure (the lower number of the 2 numbers) is considered more important of the 2 numbers in a way. That 90 is still a bit high, but now better manageable, and it will come down with treatment. I think that she is out of danger now. More care, rest, and meds will make her completely healthy again. Thank God!

P.S.:
Relaxation is very important for her. Especially, the mental/emotional relaxation. James, the best way to relax and feel comfortable faster in any situation is this:
Smiling! (Believe it or not!)

You too need to do this exercise very often, atm. God is with you, so don't worry too much (though this would be very tough atm to keep it away, try... somehow).

Thanks for the chart bud. I had to edit my post above though. It was actually 157 over 97... I haven't heard anything else since that conversation, so I take that as a good sign. I'm sure if anything got worse that they would call me.
