Giuseppe Conte (Italian prime minister) just declared the lockdown of the country to fight against the spread of Covid-19 also known as CORONAVIRUS.
School closed, no more sport events, a lot of restaurants and bar needs to stay closed, museum and turistic attractions aswell. This until ATLEAST the start of April.

You guys in USA are taking it lightly, but this is a very serious topic. Don't underestimate it as your president Trump is.
That's the stupid error we made in Italy, and now hospitals are FULL of people in bad condition.

France and Germany are next.. be careful guys.

What is really happening in Italy? Can some more people from Italy please post replies here. In USA news media some say there is nothing to worry about at all. And some media says it's a very serious situation. Others say the media is just trying to hype this whole coronavirus story for political reasons.

10k people infected and near 500 death , corona can't stop if people continue gather in stadium ...

This virus IS A BIG THREAT for all people that are old / have previous disease like diabetes, lung disease, cancer and so on. It doesn't have a super-high mortality rate (even tho in Italy it's about 5% now), BUT IT SPREADS LIKE NOTHING BEFORE. Now we're experiencing something like 1.500 infected people everyday in Italy, and it's going to go worse if we don't all stop going out with friends chilling at the restaurant, going to dance etc.

It's spreading at light-speed, masks do not help. You must stay at home and not engage with people or you may get infected and infect your family as well, causing troubles to the older people.
Trump says it's nothing, but he will soon experience the hell if the people keep having this behaviour. It's already spreading and probably thousand and thousand even millions of people are already infected, but in order to see if you're positive to the virus you have to pay 4000$ in USA. So it's obvious that the known cases are very few compared to Italy, where the test is totally free.

It's crazy all of this, today Di Blasio and Cuomo recommended people not to use the subway, how can someone not use the subway if lives in one of the boroughs in NYC
 
don't talk BS on stuff you don't know e.g. the USA healthcare system. Yes I'm talking about the USA part of your message you Italian guy. Do you know how it works there right? Do you know they have 3x more ICU beds than Italy per 100k people? Also:

just FYI as today you aren't going to be tested for free in Italy unless you can show high fever and pneumonia... or were in close contact with a positive case.

that's also BS. read scientific publications about coronavirus and its "R0", it's much lower than you think.

it's a tough situation to handle, here people is allowed to go out just to move from house -> work place. If you are out on your own just to do random stuff without a purpose, you can be stopped by the police.
 
you could use the subway but you must stay like 3+ feet away from the next guy, in case they sneeze etc. better to use a mask (n95). obv you are risking it way more than staying at home. Also subway would be dirty and virus could be on surfaces you touch. You shouldn't touch you face, you have to sanitize your hands after etc
 
Are the airports closed? I'm worried European countries will close airports soon. Because I'm travelling atm. And wanna return to my home in a month when my visa expires lol.

if you know ro then one infect fo f1, f1 to f2, f2 to f3.... that may be thousand quickly, see china and korea, all are sufer terrible consequence, now italia, next will be france, spain and next will be UK US
 
Necessary measures should be taken as soon as possible.
I'm worried about the world, I hope one day everything will be fine. (if we do not die)
