Issues reading some BHW provided content on white theme

I cant bear to look at the black theme. It feels like I was staring at the sun every time I look away from the screen.

Care Your Eyes is quite a cool Chrome add-on that allows you to set custom background/font colours on websites you whitelist.

When I first signed up here, the BlackVersion hurt my eyes so I started to use the WhiteVersion here. The problem with that was there were some non-visible things, like @Sherb links to above, and there were some threads where people used custom font colours which weren't visible with the WhiteVersion.

Now I'm only using the BlackVersion, which works fine albeit tends to tire my eyes out at the end of the day.

Thanks, @Sephrata. I use Flux, which helps some. But at night on my phone in the dark I want to make sure I have a bean of pure information pushing straight into my eyes, so I can complain the next morning about how long it took me to get to sleep, even though I know it was due to scrolling through shitpost after shitpost.

White theme thread and it was not automatically ported over to some undeveloped, disappointing, non-authorized, minor league (I actually like minor league action but had to throw it in here), unregulated, half baked, useless, untrained no account forum?

I'll need to have a chat with the authorities about that.

White theme rocks! Hahaha! :D

Same problem here. :(

To be fair.. I started using the white theme as well because the black one was raping my eyes too hard. The solution is probably not hard at all but the white theme has been broken for years which makes me think that the owners just don't give a fuck.

I definitely would not say that the owners don't care. There's a lot of higher priority stuff going on besides "hey this color looks wonky for some of us". I'm not sure what theme admins such as @Apricot and @Diamond Damien use to view the forum, though, so I thought I'd make this known if it was not already.

If it's a complex fix, don't worry about it. If it's an easy fix, I'd be remiss if I didn't point it out, as I had noticed it before but remembered when the BHW newsletter notice went out.

I am interested in @Sephrata's metro theme, though. Also, @BassTrackerBoats, to comply with your suggestion, I request this thread be moved to Online Reputation Management subforum.

I can't stand the black theme either and switched to white about a month after I joined.

But some of these colors people type in are annoying AF, it's just a code adjustment no less different as that people on the white theme can read the default color of messages from the black theme.

Deep down I always knew you would be a white theme type. :/

Thanks @Sherb - it's not that we don't care, raw truth is that 97% of the BHW membership views in black theme and as mentioned above there are ways around if black and white don't work for you. This is an issue that we will review in time where someone has posted in black then changed their font color to white which would overwrite the default - but it impacts a very small percentage on an even smaller percentage of pages.

The advertising page should default to black theme - not sure if it does for you?

Really appreciate these feedback threads they are always read - if not always replied to, where a reply has already been provided. We've just started our build to the next forum release, going to be epic - looking forward to your feedback on early beta's as before.

I am also on white theme and sometimes it hurts my eyes to read some colors tbh and I have to select all the text in order to read. :p
