Issues reading some BHW provided content on white theme

I run white theme. Even though I'm not the majority, I know I'm not alone.

Sometimes, reading non-default text colors is difficult on white theme.

One example being the BHW newsletter signup form:

Another one being the Marketplace Rules:

Can this not be made the standard font color like the rest of the official BHW correspondences and threads? Thanks.

Sad that such a glaring problems exists on a big-name, around 5 million traffic-receiving site.
 
White theme isn’t exactly environmentally friendly. More pixels that need to fire, thus more energy needed.

I know that @Sherb his house is not located in a floodplain, but I imagine he still wants to enjoy all of Iceland’s raw natural beauty with the odd bit of snow and glaciers...

A different case for me ... The WHITE theme hit my eyes so Bad ! it's hard reading yellow text on white theme. It hurt so so bad...

Does it hurt even when it's normal black text on the white theme?
 
If every member here was aware of both options, what would the majority choose ? BLACK OR WHITE THEME ?

BTW, I use the white one. I posted about a similar issue some weeks before with white theme that has to do some usernames not being visible.

That's a misconception question of sorts.

There is the hidden green them and the hidden teal theme that many fail to find.

Care Your Eyes is quite a cool Chrome add-on that allows you to set custom background/font colours on websites you whitelist.

When I first signed up here, the BlackVersion hurt my eyes so I started to use the WhiteVersion here. The problem with that was there were some non-visible things, like @Sherb links to above, and there were some threads where people used custom font colours which weren't visible with the WhiteVersion.

Now I'm only using the BlackVersion, which works fine albeit tends to tire my eyes out at the end of the day.

Do you still have the custom css available? :D
 
One solution to this is to limit the font colors that don't contrast on black and white themes.

For example, on white theme, change yellow to brown. On black theme, change brown to yellow automatically.
