I've had Comcast for a while now (They suck I know) There's not many out here.

Anyways, I wake up this morning and open my browser and boom I get a big alert that is saying I've used 240GB out of my 300GB data plan for this calender month. And it's only the 11th. WTF.

I haven't really done any work on the internet either this month. I've been lazy. And I RARELY even watch videos on YouTube. If I do get on YouTube it's mainly for a product review or game footage or something.

I do game on Xbox Live tho. Since CoD came out on the 5th I'll play for a few hours a day but I'm playing no where close to what I was playing when GTA Online came out and I didn't get any warnings then about my data.

I've been Googling and apparently most if not ALL ISPs have always had a cap. Usually around 250GB.

I'm not understanding this because I know when I've worked heavily on IM I've probably pulled in way more than 250GB per month. And also have downloaded a bunch of movies in the past like the Extended edition of Lord of The Rings Trilogy which was well over 100GB alone lol

I think I've only downloaded 2 movies this month.. both under a gig. Watched maybe 4 short YouTube vids and the rest has been on XBL a few hours a day since the 5th and I'm almost to the cap?

I fear for the hardcore gamers and MMOers out there that play 8 hours a day. And the hardcore IMers that do nothing but the internet 10hours a day straight. Making blogs, YT vids etc will eat that up in days!

I'm in TN. Anyone else experiencing data cap problems? Are there any truly unlimited companies out there?

I suppose you're in the united states which i'm not in so i can't tell if any ISP in your country has unlimited data. However, in my country, every single ISP for Wi-Fi has unlimited data which is definitely a good thing.

I haven't heard about such a thing in Europe, atleast in Lithuania. I've read in some forums people have the same issue as you do, usually in 3rd world countries. It's been for a while though.

I'm in the U.S. so not a 3rd world country. But I guess they are treating us as one.

No limits here in Estonia as well. I used to use 250+ GB per day, but now I moved my stuff to a server where I use more that that huehue :D

I've never heard of a data cap in my life. You sure that isn't some sort of advertisement or something? Call your ISP and find out. Im in the US as well and have FiOS

100% sure. This is with Comcast. You are now limited to only 300GB of data usage a month. I guess it's always been that way. It's just a hidden number that they don't tell you upfront. I did some Googling. ATnT seems to be at 180 or 250 is what people were saying.

I just called them and waited over 10 minutes to speak to someone and of course her English is terrible, I couldn't understand a damn word she was saying so after about 5 min with her I just hung up.

Anyways, there's no way in hell that in 11 days I have used over 240 GB of data of the Internet.

'Murica data plan and a shitty connection! Never had that in my parents place in France or here in Romania with my beloved fiber optic connection! Shame on you 'Murica shaaaaaaaaaame

Wow. That's crazy. I never thought the US would see data caps for home internet. FIOS is unlimited (I just checked). See if that's available to you.

I want to move to estonia next year i'm in the uk sounds good there's no data caps. Uk they have hit at tourrents mainly i use 3 different providers 3 don't seem to have capped but do slow your internet down like virgin.

then u re all so lucky. In Malaysia, there is no such thing that we call unlimited. all isp is being so stingy. 250gb a month is a huge difference for me.
