Is Two-Way internal linking bad practice?

I was looking around in Link Whisper settings and there is a toggle to prevent the generation of two-way links between posts, which is off by default.
Basically, post A links to post B and vice versa.

Is it a good idea to make at least one two-way link in all posts that are related or is it a bad idea? and has anyone tested this? (I guess would be fairly difficult to test efficiently results wise)

It causes an infinite loop for crawlers. Crawler follows your links and it would just send it back and forth.

There is no issue with it. Problem will arise when you start doing it just for the sake of it without it actually being relevant.

I don't think that's a bad idea. If there's an opportunity both ways why not avail of it?

And keep the internal linking as natural as possible.

It depends on how prevalent it is on your website.

If it looks to Google like you're just using some automated system where you're internally linking one page to another page that automatically links back, it's not clear how much value that adds to the user's experience.

On the other hand, if you make it a point to constantly link to a resource page when a certain topic comes up in whatever articles you publish in the future, that's another thing entirely.

At the end of the day, the name of the game is to make sure that whatever internal page you're linking to actually adds value to the content you're linking from.

That's [/b]the whole point of[/b] internal linking.

It's to add value to the experience of the reader.

It's not to gain the upper hand in SEO (although this can flow naturally from this process).
