More traffic does not mean more sales.
Let's say you are selling Yacths (or well affiliate for Yacths). If you have 2 million traffic a month but out of these two million '0' people can 1) afford a yacht 2) interested in buying a yacth. Then your traffic is worth nothing.
If you have 100 people per month visit your yacth site but out of the 100 all of them have money and interest in yacths then you are golden.
It's all about targeted traffic for affiliates. How much traffic do you actually need? It depends on the product. If you sell 2-3 high-value products a month you might make 2-3x than someone who sells 1000s of $10 stuff each month.
So, traffic is not everything. Far from it.
