Is This Normal In Google?

I made a website, using the keywords in the URL as the keyword I was wanting to target... this was back in November.

My site made the first page inside a week and stayed there for a few days. It then dropped to page 3, then dropped way, way back way off the scale, so it was getting zero visitors.

I now look and since the 1st January, it's ranked 2nd (behind an Amazon link) and is getting quite a bit of traffic.

Do you think the Caffeine system was the reason, or is it just what seems to happen to new websites - they disappear down the ranks for a while, but then in 2-3 weeks settle in a certain position?

that was the "google dance" and it happens to most every new site. you'll probably stick at 2nd place now so congrats!

thats the google dance my friend, normal for newly indexed sited. just keep building links

you should ask the mods to add a cheers button to go along with the thanks button
