Is this new IG Algorithm?

I can't stand this anymore...... Why IG is doing this... they want to screw us or what? Will this be forever or ? Anyone pleaseee..

Yeah, it's weird, I have 40k followers and I am getting only 10k impressions per Photo... Is that normal?

Even the big pages in my niche are not getting much views like before.....

I remember old times, when hitting the explore Page was as easy as buying some fake likes...

Btw, what do you think about purchasing some fake likes/views and comments (being careful, obviously: if you have 10k followers, buy only 400 likes per Photo, in order to have somethingbetween 1-4%) ? I mean, if IG screw us, it's time to do something. Getting promotions from brands will be harder now...

I wouldnt recommend that. There's a big chance Instagram to flag your account.

Guys, it happened with FB and IG is a part of FB so... It was only a matter of time.
But hey, maybe they'll change some things in our advance. Hopefully!

What do you mean by "it was a matter of time" ? Please explain.

Best thing to do is just keep posting. Hopefully it'll passover.

If not, there'll hopefully be more information in the future about how this "new algorithm" works. They updated it not too long ago too.

Yes but if I post a video it will get less views and that ain't works because it will ruins my engagement... I can upload max 1-2 photos per day but that aint bringing followers... I hope they will fix it soon or just someone will give his opinion.

My 10k follower account is getting 100 likes per image. My engagement is toast.

There are ways of improving your engagement. It takes about 2 weeks, in which it'll go up about 1%-2%, after that it increases consistently, at a very low rate, but increase is increase.

In my tests with multiple accounts (botted and manual), it's about 0.015% increase every week. After 2 months, accounts are up about 1%. After that they increase about 0.021% weekly. After 6 months, you're up about 3% and it tappers after that.

I can't say here how I do it 'cause if everyone finds out, accounts that I handle will go back in the dump like many others. I've seen hints here on BHW of how I'm doing it, so I'm not the only one that found a little breathing room with IG.

Im slightly interested, but ppl like me need like 3x engagement. 3% wont really help. Probably gonba statt over

I don't think the problem is the engagement right now. Something is definetly wrong with Instagram. A couple of pages in my niche are getting max 100-200K video views right now, usually 50-80K views right now.. Before a week they were getting something like 300-500K ++ video views... Maybe that's a new algorithm and if that's true that means the end of many pages.

This has happened before and will happen in the future, just stay consistent and post awesome content with proper hashtags and you'll be back on track soon

What's the reason tho? When I try to upload some good video it gets less views that before. If I don't delete the video I will dmaage my engagement..

I'm not sure what the reason is, but trust me, I've been in IG game for a long time and this happened many times. Engagement doesn't matter that much because it's temporary only, I'm getting the same number of followers daily as I was getting two weeks ago and that's the most important thing

i have a gaming page with 28K followers, i used to reach 100K+ views on each video and cracking the explore page easy! but in July/August i got shadowbanned i've been stuck on 28k for like a month!
hard days man i used to promo people for money

Here's my theory from observation over the last week;

There was an update on August 7th, IG released a tool to monitor how much time you spend on the app.

-You can view your average time using IG
-You can set daily reminders for a certain max amount of time you want to spend on the app

In the app store it reads; "time on Instagram should be positive, intentional and inspiring. These tools will be available globally in the coming weeks"

In the past I've noticed that there is engagement downtime around when the IG app is updated. I'm in Canada, and there's no telling when the update will be rolled out globally, so I'm sure this could be a continued trend for August, maybe even into September.

Managing a system with close to a billion users can't be as simple as pressing "update" on a control panel. I'm assuming because I'm not a software engineer of any sort. This is, to me, the most plausible theory for the recent engagement decreases. If it continues for the rest of the year, then I would feel that the algorithm has in fact, been altered.

Only time will tell. Like I said before, this is only a theory based on my observation. I still have posts going viral from 3 or 4 days ago after the update.
