Yeah India is where the original indica strain came from from what I know. I've heard it does grow wild all over India. Those pictures don't look like cannabis though, but perhaps they are of the same family given your location.
Nothing there to test as others have suggested, because it's just leaves that resemble the canna leaves, there's no actual visible flowering or buds that could be used.
That's an actual cannabis plant you posted.. you can clearly see it budding and your friend is growing it in a pot. The OPs picture has no buds and looks like wild messy growth, nothing you would actually consume to test it.
