I've had an ongoing confusion regarding "link cloaking", and I'd really appreciate it if somebody with knowledge on the subject could clear it up for me.

I always see 2 different meanings for it. On some pages, people claim it's as easy as using an online link shortened "such as goo.gl or tinyurl" to "cloak" your links. Sometimes, it's this confusing process that involves coding, creating a website, etc.

My question IS: If I "cloak" my Amazon aff. links using an online link shortener, will this safeguard my account since it technically isn't a direct link? Is that considered proper "link cloaking"?

    Thanks in advance.
