If you work in a fast food restaurant and you take a picture of the details in the database is this illegal?

Data = Name, Phone Number, Address

Basically taking a picture with a phone of the data on screen (computer) which is the data stated above - name etc.

Yes this is illegal, and will get you fired your breaking the Data Protection Act.

Yeah, got to agree with Theodore plus there a lot of cameras around nowadays tied to POS systems for just such a purpose.

Also a lot of computers these days have tracking software so they can tell what you've been up to aswell.
If you have no purpose for looking in to peoples details then they will question it.
But i doubt a fast food place has this lol, But you never know these days!

Argh!
And yeah they have cameras and I could do it slyly but now I think about it it's not really worth it.

I was gonna get some leads from the database and send out some "You Won" leaflets (impersonating the company) and sending them to a CPA trial offer.

Never mind haha.

Wow im glad your not doing that.
It really isnt worth it for a few leads mate.

Could get you in so much shit! lol

Don't do it. The info doesn't belong to you and they will fire you if they see what you've done (plus possible prosecution). It's not worth it.

It wouldn't be worth it!

You're better off just hitting the pavement for leads, or using the phone book to cold call. Same details, but legal.

it depends on where you want to spend your time in the next few years...

btw this should have been in the lounge!
