For an important keyword I want to rank for, I wrote an article of about 2,000 words. Currently on Google, the ranking for this keyword is sometimes the corresponding article? Sometimes it becomes the home page of the website (where the target keyword is included in the home page, The reason why the target keyword is included on the home page is that I want to help the home page to make internal links for this ranking keyword page)?
So is this situation a keyword cannibalization?
If so, what should I do? Do I need to delete or change this target keyword on the homepage?

look at your gsc and check the query.

If you get all pages show up evenly, it is cannibalization.

If you get one page show up in 85% of time, other pages randomly show up. It's normal.

I checked through GSC and found that pages with this keyword include content pages and home pages. In contrast, the number of clicks on the content page accounts for the vast majority, and the number of clicks on the home page only accounts for a small part.
At the same time, on Google, the probability of this ranking page being displayed is about 70%, and the others are displayed as the home-page.
So can I change the target keyword to partial matching on the content of the homepage, but still have internal links pointing to the content page, so as to solve the problem of chaotic ranking?
