I started a site about a week ago and I bought a small package of social signals.

The service I bought from asked me how many of shares/likes/+/etcetera I had before buying from them (Which I thought would be 0)

They said I had 23,000 Google + likes which they never gave me.

So I asked how I could check the amount of google + likes. They told me to check likeexplorer.com and plusonechecker.net.

What do you know, I have a little over 23k likes.

Is this going to affect my site being white hat? Is google going to think I'm undergoing black hat methods?

Fake likes and +'s are against Facebook and Google+'s TOS respectively, although Facebook enforces this more aggressively than Google. Google, at the most, will delete your Google+ account, but they've also been known to roll back the number of Google+'s you have. Facebook, on the other hand, will either delete your account or sue you, although they'll more than likely just delete your account.

If you're worried about receiving a manual penalty or an algorithmic penalty, I wouldn't worry about it too much. From what I understand, social signals are not used as a ranking factor in the SERPs.

By the way, once you do something black hat to your website, you no longer have a white hat website, you have a "grey hat" website.

Can you elaborate a little more on this subject?
