Is this even the right place? Is anyone else even looking?

So, BHW moved to a new platform and a new look.....

And you know what, at first glance I wasn't too sure. I mean, things had changed from the way I had been used to them. Features changed and moved. The look and appearance of things had changed.

But today something has either changed or just clicked and the verdict is that this place just got a fucking who load better than it was before.

From a regular user point of view the whole place just seems to flow much better than before. I dunno, things just seem better connected. There is a hum about the place that wasn't there before.

I know, I know, some will say that they prefer the old style and this new look is a step backwards. Well, actually, no it's not. Not at all. This is all a positive step in the right direction and everything changes over time. That time for BHW is now. It is here and it's gonna be this way.

It is easier to navigate around and there are some really fucking cool features that are easily accessible from a drop down menu when you place the cursor over your forum username in the top right hand side.

The alerts are better - you can view your content - follow BHW members who you want to keep up to date with and that creates your news feed.

I mean, come on, this is a much better BHW than it was before. In fact, shit, I don't even got nothing negative to say about any of it.

I am eager to see the market place updates completed as I heard that was being updated a few days after the rest of the forum had been updated.

Hats off to the BHW staff involved in all of this and congrats to the BHW mods who have been promoted to Admin roles. I can only imagine how much back office work that running a forum like BHW must take.

Exactly what I thought. First few minutes I wasn't sure, but I really like news feed when I see posts, threads and liked posts by members I follow.
Also Alert feature is awesome. It is just more neat overall and gives better user experience.

I'm getting used to it now and love it, much better than before. Only problem for me is my mobile phone company is blocking it now , so i need to get them toturn their content filter off and i can use it on my phone aswell

Re-design is a big improvement, but the links at the top and sidebar, still look 1998 frontpage

My favorite is the alerts. Without a doubt. I've lost track of useful conversations countless times and had to bookmark nonstop for everything.

Yes at first I didn't like it very much, but now I am really getting used to it. The alert feature is really awesome, it makes you feel that here is a lot more going on. I think it was the right decision from the admins to upgrade the site. Sometimes things need a change, even when you think they are already working good.

Just discovered that, yes ALERT is amazing, good idea, very useful

Funny you say that, I literally hated it for the last 2 days and today I log in here and either something changed, like you said or I just got over it. Still some more stuff that needs to change and go back to how it was, but so far so good.

It takes 'balls' to take a site this large, this popular and improve it. After using the new site for a few days I feel they really did make the right choice. It is still early days and I am pretty sure there are more improvements, tweaks and changes on the way.

I totally agree. The alert feature really does make the place feel alive again. It always has been alive but now it is easier to connect, stay connected and keep track of things. Great feature.

Yeah really not sure what PP was thinking. It looks better than the old design but damn they messed it up from a users point of view.
