Is this a viable money making option?

So I randomly come up with ideas for either shirts or prints. BUT they aren't always cohesive.

So for example I'll think of a few great football shirt ideas with a quotes one day. And I'd wanna do a POD with that, but not have to build a whole shop and all that. Or some other day I'll think about a beauty niche shirt idea.
I could also have a fiverr person mock up the designs, and then I'd sell them via printing services.

How would one go about this? I always thought I could just do a few Facebook ads/Instagram ads and have people purchase straight from there.

I totally understand about the whole sales funnel and collecting emails for future upsells, but I'm not too well versed in it. So a lot of my ideas and product go un-made, and I move on. I definitely still have all these ideas written down, but none to fruition.

If anyone can point me in a good direction, or help me think of a better way to ask this, I'd be much appreciative.

I've been in PoD this year and it's a perfectly viable model but the marketing is 80% of the work. Making the shirts is just the start and you'll need to put in the time and money to learn how to profitably sell them. That's your bottleneck - not shirt ideas.

Thanks for the post and motivation.
Have you worked with something like the idea above? As in not having an actual store? Like I'm just wanting to set up the ads and then have people directed to the link to buy the shirt(s).

It's one of my side projects at the moment, yes. Hired a couple of designers to make the products and I market them.

There are several POD sites you can list your designs on, you don't need a website of your own, just promote the links to your designs.
...and yes, this method is old and keeps on working but marketing your ideas is key if you want to be successful.

When you just start best way to go is to analyze your competition see what works and what not and replicate with small changes.
Get yourself some spy tools for FB ads.
