Hi All,

I have recently found a UK high school website that does not have the exact name as a domain - Instead they have registered "blablblaHIGH.com" .

I have found that the .CO.UK and .COM are available for the exact name "blablablaHIGHSCHOOL".

So I am just looking for advice as to whether you guys think this is worth pursuing and also if so any advice on a script to make first contact? I don't want to sound like an a$$ holding them to ransome lol

Thanks and enjoy your Friday!

Did a quick Google search on "UK high school website" and found many of them have domain names that go "blablablhigh.com", so your plan might just not work out.

Also, domain names can be trademarked. Assuming that the university in question is pretty big and they've trademarked the name, they can easily claim the domain name from you legally.

There's no benefit for them to change their domain - especially to a longer one. I wouldn't pursue this.

Thanks guys good advice all round - unfortunate it's a no go but there we go!

Also worth nothing they would lose their domain authority in the process. Yes you can 301 redirect to the new domain but there will be a period of building up history again with search engines (Google).
