Is there anything Illegal about Stealing a Theme ???

It's a blurred line indeed.
Not every webdesigner creates all of his templates or images. Not all stock photos are royalty free.
Not every webdesigner purchases their copy of Photoshop or Dreamweaver (lol dreamweaver. I hear the new one is good though).
I honestly think it's a miracle that business is possible to be conducted online at all considering everyone steals from everyone and it's almost only the foolish ones, or the ones with exceptionally deep pockets, that pay for most of what they use....But those people usually download music or movies or tv shows so that whole train of integrity smashes right into a wall. It's the wild west without horses.
I've purchased themes that were clearly mixes of ripped themes and I spent a pretty penny on essentially copy paste work.
In the end, I suggest hiring someone to do your theme for you because of the quality. Why do a half assed job yourself when you can hire someone who loves to do webdesign?

I have to agree with this guy, not trying to be rude or mean but thinking with the "cheap" mentality won't get you far in business.

I'm not involved in designing too much at all, I just hire my friends who are usually irrationally expensive to "real" clients, but I've only heard good things about the web design services in the BST here, so if I were you I'd give it a look through to see what catches your eye.
In fact, I'm checking out web design and logo services in the BST for myself right now.
(Sidenote: There is a definite shortage of web design BST threads...So whoever is interested in providing this should go ahead and create a thread for your service)

Jesus....Theres a lot of holy Marys on here for what is a "Black hat forum" !!!! Does anyone feel so strongly about gaming the system to rob off Google ?? No...Didnt think so. I download movies and tv shows all the time, if I like what I see I usually go to Amazon and buy the whole boxset....This is why filesharing is good for business and if people dont realise that get off the Internet and definitely get off Black hat world.. Sam I have that theme (Which I paid for !) if you P.M me your skype I will send it over to you.. You will probably find Elegant Themes so easy to use that you end up signing up to all there themes...Thats exactly what happened to me !

I agree. When I use cracked themes, I usually do this first to test it out. When the site starts earning and I have no problem with the theme, I buy it.

Well, stealing obviously isn't legal but what about modifying the "borrowed" theme?
I'm amazed at most of the comments i see. Ofcourse they worked hard for these themes, so I'm guessing you are also buying all those movies legally and bought all those Audio legally because as most of the posts I see that they all work very hard for the movies and Mp3s as well. Just dont try to be rightous on one side because I know most of you have STEAL movies and other stuffs. Nuff said.

It is illegal in many ways. It's stealing, to begin with. You not only steal the code but the images, as well. It's like piracy.
