If you understand seo then you are in control of your own destiny and you'll know if you are getting fair work for fair pay.

If you can't be bothered to do that, hire a consultant that you can trust which is another minefield if you know nothing.

Neither I nor 2 people who work for me own any business or sites...We help to manage a few sites and certain business related issues. We are not SEOs,but we have a general understanding of it,especially when it comes to graphics, design and on-page optimization. And for low, low-med competition keywords we've been managing to get some pages of wesites to page 1 or 2 without any links, just by optimization and great content. 60% of our clients know nothing about the web, leads all the stuff you mentioned which is mostly related to affiliate marketing sites, ad-words and similar. 60% of our clients are small stores/businesses who don't really cater to online folks yet want to have a web presence for various reasons Again, completely different niche and even target audience.

You are deluded. I was talking exactly about what you need, generating leads means people visit the website and send a form to contact/enquiry with the company offline.

Any muppet can get a wordpress blog and premium theme, get the tags right and get to page two for low competition stuff, this isn't advanced kids are doing it.

Unless you are a troll playing games I feel really sorry for the peoples websites you are managing especially when you run off to buy spam seo packages with absolutely no idea what damage your doing.

Go back read my post again and follow it or enjoy liquidation anytime soon.

so what would that be? ranks up or your money back? generally speaking there are NO such guarantees as far as I know, as SEO is not (and cannot be) a "certain" business.

mate, you are not only one who wasted $$$ on SEO filling pockets to some sellers who promise quality and in the end nothing good. You depend on luck and many things. You can buy top guest posts spend thousands and no guarantee you will rank.. on the other side someone might rank keywords with GSA spam. In general this industry is crazy because nobody can guarantee nothing thats how it is, but we cant say its real scam because if you buy forum profiles and seller deliver you he done his job, if you will rank or not nobody know. That is why adwords is there, you pay and you get traffic you are guaranteed to get clicks for your money. If you know to do things correctly in PPC, you will be more than happy..
On BHW you have 5% good sellers where you can expect some results from their links..

It would be great if you had the reasoning capability of a five-year old. Then you'd see my point, and the fact that it remains valid.

If you only have a general understanding of SEO how are you qualified to help rank clients? How can you guarantee first page results? How can you bitch about what other SEO companies are doing when you are not even an SEO?

If you have a good knowledge of SEO, do the proper on-page SEO, make sure your content is golden, and send the proper backlinks, you can closely estimate how long it would take to get to the top.

I've been doing it with my clients for a while now.. I'm not saying I'm always on point, but pretty close to that..

P.S If google rolls our an update, and you didn't do fishy things, your ranks will just get better.

There are people who offer these services. I saw one who for $599 a month would within 6 months promise you top 3 on Google.

Now, if these people can actually deliver that, well that is a different story.

Seriously, run away from those who give your RANKING guarantee in Google :) They could "guarantee" you some traffic and ranking gains, but not a particular results of course.
 
I don't think real seo will ever give any 100% guarantee.
 
no. but if you are expert at onpage and offpage, you are doing your best and not skip any potential fixes then that could pretty much eliminate failure (meaning there are people who can get your site to top 10 almost guaranted).

unless keyword has some sick competition
