Hello,

Im searching a real cheap translation service. Maybe 3$ per 500 words. I dont see why these services are priced 10 to 30 times the price. I mean if you know a language than it should be a matter of minutes to translate a given article. At least translating a english article to my mother language shouldnt be too complicated for me so others shouldnt have a big problem too.

So is there such a cheap translation service that gives out real readable texts? No machinetranslation. Google translate seems not bad but even this has many errors.

Someone?

Thanks!

Here you go - http://translate.google.com/#

I didn't see your reference to google translate... sorry.

You may want to post in hire a freelancer here or on getafreelancer.com

Yeah I would use google translate but I think a manual review of such pages or a angry visitor could harm a website that is indexing such sites.

The problem with hiring a freelancer would be that I dont speak the most languages myself. So how should I know if a text is grammatically correct? I dont know how to prove...

Well i know few online translators, its not a human translation but it does quite a good work to be honest...it eaven has English to Macedonian :D

http://translation.conveythis.com/Macedonian/to-English/

tested on my language .... crap. Typical software translation. DONT send any marketing material with this translation. Smells 100% foreign spam

Not the best tool you suggested. I copied the english text at the top and translated to my language and its nothing i would try to offer to a visitor.

What languages? I think from english translated to spanish, german, maybe french and a couple of other markets that probably have value...

Is there such a service? I mean I could hire someone but how would I know the translation is good? If there would be a service i could read about them and see how the translation is valued by others.

i am quite sure that you can spare $5ish for this things being translated. Why a freelancer or an opportunist would give you crap translation?

Try fiverr.com, or any freelacing site. Or just ask ppl here to translate it for you. If you are not cheap, you will get decenty work. i am sure.

So , use our international community, or if you dont really wanna share your texts here... freelancer sites. You will be suprised, how cheap it can be done by humans.

As far as i read there are a good amount of freelancers that dont deliver good results. For example they should write articles and give you something copied or the english is too bad to use. So I fear that even when I would get a translation, maybe in spanish i wouldnt be able to say if it is proper spanish. Or machine translated. That means I would need another person that i can trust to proofread... hm maybe try a couple of freelancers and then send the articles to one of these highpriced services so they can proofread. The best translator could be kept... Maybe a good idea...

Thanks for suggestions... I think I will try it along this way...

post job ads on CL saying you will pay them X amount to translate whatever in the writing gigs or regular job section

I would go on CL with a description of how long the translation should be and what format you want it in with your price you will pay listed.

Hey, I really don't want to break any non-advertising rules on this forum... But I think I can help you.
Being a german native speaker, I offer a very cheap german to english translation service on fiverr (1000 words per gig atm), just search for "german translation", my name is "alexh".

I can do the german part for you. Usually I charge 0.02$/word (source) but I could accept 5$/ 500 word.

I think Fiverr is a good place for cheap translation service. Myself is offering english to chinese translation service there, and I charge U$5 max 500 words.

It is true that you may not know whether that translation job is really up to your standard or not. I guess it is really much more depends on your luck. Perhaps try to read thru his gig's content and ask a few questions to see if he is really pro enough.

I have clients ask me for sample, my education background, occupation and websites I worked before for their reference, before they place order.

Hi.
I actually followed SebastianJu's suggestion. It was more than a year ago. I have hired some freelancers and then cross-referenced their translations. It took me a few months of work but I found some pretty good translators working for very affordable rates. Now I don't need their services anymore, but since many people are looking for good and affordable freelancer translators, I decided to build a simple website and connect my freelancers with people needing cheap translations. It costs one cent for a source word to translate text from Chinese to English or English to Chinese. I don't earn anything on this, since I think it's obvious that the freelancers take the whole 1 cent per word (which I think is cheapest you can get). I hope I'm not violating any forum rules by posting it here, but since I don't earn anything on it, I hope it is OK. Plus it all started when I read SebastianJu's post a year ago :) So if you want to try it, search for "OneCentTranslation". You can even translate 100 words for free there to try it out. But please don't abuse it, since the freelance translators are the ones who translate those 100 words for free!

Cheers!

You get what you pay for.
My advice: don't save on things that are not worth saving.

The answer is yes.

I have been using a new service offered online by professional, human translators that only costs $0.06 per word. In my eyes, it is the cheapest and most reliable translation service on the market.

Type 2 Translate is a pretty cool place to go for really good translations at a low price. To my knowledge, they have translators in every language. I know their own website is translated into 14 different languages and they have thousands of translators around the world.

The staff was nice, great customer service and great follow-up. I will use them again in a heartbeat for my next language set-up for my site. I translated my site into two languages with them so far without breaking the bank.

Initially I thought I would just go the Google translate route, but then I noticed the bounce rate of all of the multilingual visitors so I figured there had to have been some big errors, and sure enough, once I changed to professional translations the bounce rate on my site was much better. I love using their service.:D

Any translation tool may not be too helpful for providing readable text... there would be some errors, which can be corrected by those who have their mother language..

So it would be better to find any person who provides this service, searching on freelancer.com or creating a thread in market place in this forum or digitalpoint forum would be helpful.

Take a look on websites such as freelancer, guru and elance they are all excellent sources for finding cheap translation services.
