Is SEO dead?

The trick nowadays is to go for small traffic but of high quality. This is how you can stay under the radar from competition (they'll think your site is dead).

no one talks about is that SEO is a zero-sum game
I agree with this but I think it's only true for high comp queries. Otherwise there are a lot of interesting niches that we aren't aware of because we tend to do what everybody else is doing and follow the trends, hence we end up playing the zero sum game.

I think SEO today involves more niching down than ever. We also have to be creative about monetization because some ppl will find the same obscure niche as you but they'll simply deem it unmonetizable.

Also GPT is not good for a lot of obscure niches, it needs finetuning to satisfy the search intent and usually the guys going for automation with custom models prefer broader niches so they can scale vertically, therefore missing on these smaller opportunities which are simply left there for the picking.

I ranked a health blog recently only with seo. I took help of a friend and he did not charge me a lot. Overall, the project was profitable for me but I had to keep lot of patience before that happened.

High competition and Various strategies make you confusion, still alive and doing great

This is local keyword "where to have a birthday party" in certain city. Birthday party ideas, places etc. I made one massive AI article and it works wonders. You can rent your rankings out or if you offer service by yourself that will be much better.

It is not deal, there are just different tricks to rank. Maybe old tricks dont work anymore, and you need to find new ones!

You need to know latest SEO, but SEO not dead

you can search for SEO is dead and there is a post everyone saying that finally happen for every month and every year and so far every prediction failed, so I will count the failed prediction of dead seo for october 2024

Do proper keywords research, optimize the onpage properly and buy some high quality backlinks. You will see results within 1 month.

You need to now plan according too latest google updates. If you follow the latest guidelines, you can still regain lost rankings.

I am not joking. This is an serious question. After almost 6 years, I've simply lost motivation because everything is down. No results , HCU ruined me and nothing ever recovered.

I've just decided to sit down and check situation and it is so depressive. A keyword that I was ranking for years in top 10 is not there. One or few page sites with zero trust flow are there instead.
SEO is not dead, but it's very expensive these days.

If someone has done only the keyword research part very well, he can be ahead of others in short time. But very less bloggers spend time learning keywod research.

I understand how tough this can be. Consider these steps:

1. **Audit your site**: Identify issues post-HCU (Helpful Content Update) and fix them.
2. **Focus on quality**: Update or improve existing content to match user intent.
3. **Diversify traffic sources**: Use social media, email marketing, and other platforms.
4. **Seek professional help**: Consider an SEO expert to regain momentum.

Recovery is possible, but it may take time and strategy adjustments.

SEO is very much alive. It’s still essential for online marketing and continues to evolve. It helps improve visibility and connect with audiences. Staying informed about changes and trends is crucial for success.

We cannot say that. Just look at seo section in marketplace. You will find lot of active BSTs and they are getting lot of enquiries as well.

I completely understand how frustrating that must feel, especially after so many years of hard work but SEO is definitely not dead yet

Content is always king and it will be always
