is scrapebox really that good?

Yeah I've noticed that too. I think it's partially the number of new users trying to learn it and not getting instant gratification. And partially some people are lazy when it comes to using tools.

Make sure you select the same type of blog on the poster as your harvested urls.
Scrapebox can be EXTREMELY powerful, just practice it daily and don't give up, like most software - there is a learning curve, but once you master it and learn to use it correctly and not stupidly you will be blown away by the results.

outgoing or outbound (OBL)...links from your site to other people's web sites (or in the case of an OBL checker, you check how many links out from person x's site there are to sites of persons y and z and so forth)....

I think SB for the price is well worth it. Like many have said the learning curve is not difficult but requires you to think through a process of actions before you just go blast out posts. For me I found that harvesting url's into manual post sites is by far the most effective. I did an automated post the other day with 5000 WP url's, a majority of them actually indicated posted but going back through the check link the % drops off rapidly, somewhere around 60 confirmed. I didn't even bother checking PR or # of outbound links on those URL's posted, probably make me mad. The other thing is posting 5000 url's takes hours to post, maybe I could tweak my settings but still it's alot of time. The value of finding urls with high PR, low outbound links, and nofollow is the real value of SB for me.
The only thing I don't like is not being able to run the app on multiple computers, seems that it can be activated on only one computer at a time, yet multiple instances can run. This is problem during slow posting since that instance pretty much takes over your computer, an annoying aspect if posting takes hours.

Apparently, yes.
You harvest some URLs and then from them you harvest emails.
I've never used this function though, so I don't really know it works.

my two cents: use custom footprint, i know good footprint to find autoapprove wordpress blogs, when i post to 10k wp blogs i have instant 1k backlinks

its not as good as i thought it would be, but its not bad... It posts on WP just fine, but out of 2k submitted comments, only few will get accepted if that

TBH scrapebox is quite useless if you're going to use it as blogs autoposter. Your comments just wont get approved by any sane blogger. And blogs where they will get approved are usually already spammed to hell.
But it is invaluable tool as SE scrapper, pr and other stats checker, rapid indexer.

it harvest emails like a harvester on steriods. any classified ads site will be stripped like a barenaked granny when I see one. so there email marketing efforts rules on our side since we used this tool.

This is a bit like asking is a hammer any good?! In the hands of the right builder, it is crucial and highly effective, but scrapebox, just like any other tool, has to be learnt how to use it correctly.
I have watched the vids several times and use scrapebox a fair bit, but treat it and the blogs with respect that I wish to have my blogs treated with. E.g. if you don't want your site banned or all your links removed then add some value and don't blast 100k over night!
