I brought scrapebox a day or two ago but for some reason all comments I attempt to make will just say failed, it doesn't even appear to try, just skips and fails. I do find the harvester is very good but there a handful of free crawlers that do the same, I brought scrapebox for the commenting mainly so I'm rather let down to be honest!

Is this just a bad workman blaming his tools? I harvest fine and had a couple days of small bursts of about 300 and about 220 of those are accepted so I was happy but now it doesn't seem to try, I had one comment out of 600 on this run?

Plus does scrapebox post to forums? I saw a link checker in sb but I can't see it anywhere, so I downloaded the free one from sb site!

The reviews are fantastic but I'm feeling a bit duped as its only a harvester now, and that's not what I brought it for

Yes this pretty much answers your question. I have been able to get over 6k links just from blog comments in a week using SB...

i'll give you some scrapebox info that I don't think is posted anywhere here on BHW, because I'm feeling generous.

    Boot up scrape box.

    Load some proxies

    scrape some keywords

    Harvest some blogs

Get the pagerank on the blogs

Order the blogs by PR descending.

    ******stop********

Manually post on 5-20 blogs a day with PR 3 or higher with very few outgoing links.

    Then ping those sites.

25 high PR do-follow backlinks with little outgoing links other than your own can = PR3. Imagine what hundreds over a few weeks or months would do.

    Rinse, repeat.

    Is SB worth it? ab-so-lutely.

    Feel free to thank me.

Can scrapebox tell if a page is do-follow? Cause damn, there are so many people commenting on my no-follow sites...

(please people change a bit your pre-written comments, they blow)

Unfortunately no, SB can't tell if a link is no-follow. Somewhere on BHW is a firefox add-on that will highlight a link blue if it's do-follow and pink if it's no-follow, so when yer manually posting it will show you.

Me personally, I wrote a bot that loads each URL in a proxy and checks the # of outbound links, and no-follow status, then saves the results.

SB is an amazing tool, its kind of surreal using this tool. I think about a few years ago and never would I have thought to own a tool as versatile and useful as this.

There are a bunch of threads with how to take full advantage of this tool, make sure to read them, apply learned techniques, and read them again.

My two cents, Make sure your lists are quality lists and your comment list has been well thought out...

Most of the people in this thread obiously dont know how to use scrapebox. It can be used to find **************** blogs.
How: Go in check links mode-Write nofollow in the websites box and load your blog list

that doesnt work perfectly. It doesnt take account sites that have some links no-follow and others not. There's a lot of sites that have some links no-follow but the blogs are follow. Some blogs have do-follow links in the "name" but no-follow in the comment. These would fail with your technique. But I guess it's better than not having anything. Also, it doesnt check outbound link count. You'd be better off doing it manually IMHO.

    Correct all around.

Also - just my opinion - but I think both no-follow versus do and pagerank are over-rated as metrics.

im thinking about buying SB... i had a question.. when it scrapes for websites, does it only read the source code? or does it load the entire site (images included)? It would save bandwidth if it only read the source.... reason why I ask.. I have mobile broadband. so instead of using proxies. ill just pause SB, disconnect and reconnect to switch ip's.

I don't know the answer to your question about how it scrapes, but here's a bit of info I posted awhile ago with some bandwidth usage examples, maybe that will help you:

heh, Ive got mobile bandwidth for the next six months until my new house is ready...this shit sux.

Scrapebox works, just requires a bit of bandwidth, and can be a bit slow if your signal is low(which is expected).

I've seen a few people complain about ScrapeBox's effectiveness lately and I'm not sure why. I'm still getting results as good as I was when I first started using it.
