Is SANDBOX Really Exists?

Take it this way,

You've a new business, which is in a competitive niche and there are multiple shops/mechandise around you catering to a set of customers.
Since you're new you'll have a few customers coming on to your shop. But as the time pass, people start visiting your shop to check your products, offering you an opportunity to show your competitive advantage. You offer them good products, great price, better environment or dealings or any other feature that put your business ahead of your competition. Slowly the word of mouth spreads and gradually you start having more customers and start competing with others at par.

Same thing happens with your website in Sandbox stage. you can out pass this stage if you have any of this achieved with your website content

1. Newer low competition KW
2. Great Content
3. Better Engagement
4. Better Navigation
5. Better Experience
6. High Conversion

Hope that helps!

Amit
Probably, I can't say NO to this. Good one :)

I believe sandbox goes even further and g throttles your traffic according to age and whatever they think is authority. They sandbox posts.

I believe the sanbox is real. I have a website in the Health category. I find low competition keywords on this website. Better content + speed + rank math pro + wp rocket + backlink. So I'm using everything. I'm in the top 10 for some keywords. In some, I'm not even in the top 100. I have my site for 5 months. domain name is 5 months old. My other site exists for more than 1 year. No matter what I write, I come out on the first page. As time goes on, Google starts to like you.

Google indexes job sites faster because of sheer number of job posts. Same with a forum site. Also google treats blog posts differently. Hence you can't compare a job site or a static site with a blog site.
Best comment i have ever read

Living in the sandbox for one of my site right now. Initially when the articles got indexed, for low competition kw it was ranking on first page. A week later it got down to page 6 and fluctuates between page 3-6.

I believe when the time comes, it'll go back up to page 1 again but I'm expediting the process with quality links.
I've been experiencing the same thing you experienced for 2 weeks.:)

The Sandbox is not a fixed static functionality. Its different for every site.

There is no real sandbox in a way few ppl think.

For me its just a test of google when they add a new site to find out how it will perform against other sites. This is logical for me. They test it first and if its doing good, they show you more often.

Sometimes it will take 2 months sometimes even 4 months. I guess more content = more chances fir google to check your performance = shorter "sandbox".

I am a visual leaner so I would love to see a nice infographic on this topic. would be nice.

Talking of new sites, it is normal that if you publish a site today, it will take time to build links and rank your way up in results. Google may index your site immediately, then from there to get any traffic and get up the raking it's another story. Call it sandbox or not doesn't really matter, it surely does take time to rank a new site.

I don't see how this is still a discussion in 2021. A brand new site will almost always be outperformed by an older site with aged content if you don't take links into consideration.

With that being said, it's not black and white. I've seen brand new sites rank (few weeks old) rank quickly when they go viral on social media and gain a few links from authority news sites like NY times, BBC, WSJ, etc. I'm sure they take into account web traffic and brand searches to make sure your website is legitimate.

Because it is a real thing.
Here is one of my sites, fresh domain with no link building done (apart from a couple of Rachmaninov specials), started posting 4-5 times weekly around Dec or Jan. 7 to 8 months before it even got a pulse.
The highest performing post on that site was published well over 6 months ago.
I think it is good that people understand this may happen. Otherwise, they will give up too soon.

I was wondering why this question only got asked around 10x this month.

We average about 25 threads / month about sandbox existence.

Personal Experience Sharing with you all. Yes, SandBox Really Exits. A year back I was working on on-site and the post were indexing months even though when i make backlinks then also their results is not getting at all.
