Yes you can, but why not write your own article and use that article as a reference? People still love fresh content

The age of spun articles seems to be over, mostly due to better advice from more well-established people here. Search engines are getting smarter, and a computer will never be able to re-word articles fully to make them sound coherent.
Instead, it's often best if you re-write articles yourself if you're wanting different words and syntax and stuff. Plus, as had been mentioned, you'll retain reader attention a lot better if they don't feel like they're reading the writing from a robot.

I am not a fan of spinning. Rewriting an article using their facts in your own words is a different thing.

I think that you will do much better with re-purposing the content.
