Is Respectful Criticism Welcome Here?

I have a simple but sincere question and I’d appreciate hearing different perspectives.
Is it acceptable in this community to respectfully question or critique certain decisions, processes, or even the actions of moderators or administrators?
Of course, I’m referring to constructive and respectful criticism, not hostility or disrespect. I believe that in many communities, open feedback can help things improve and grow.
I’m genuinely curious to know where this forum stands on that. Is there space here for such discussions?

Keyword respectful, I guess

It would be very , very naive to assume you can waltz in here and give lessons of any kind to administrators, lol. Try to do that with the CEOs of Microsoft and Gooogle and see how that goes.
 
I've seen that you are free to share development ideas and all that freely.
But whether they'll listen to you, that's not necessarily going to happen, and there's no need to get too emotional about it if they don't do what some people want.
  • I would add an Instagram-like feed to the page, where some people could buy advertising space. This would only be visible to "computer" users. Because in mobile view it would break the entire page. This would then appear at the bottom of the page, a bit like a carousel. You can buy a banner there for as little as €10 per month...
  • Then the guys who have over 1000 comments have a free feature to advertise in some predetermined location. This ad then changes every time the page loads to new one.
  • Then the forum should have its own "blog", where someone can buy a sponsored article about one of their products or company. This would be like a guest post.
  • Then the mods can reward some users with a medal. Which is given out once a year. This medal would then be highlighted in the user's profile in some way. I don't know what the reason for the reward could be, maybe the best looking of the year (I would win for sure).

    Those things are my development ideas at the start, but yeah. But are those going to happen, nope.

Relax. Nobody is handing out medals here for defending the admins.

I think respectful criticism is usually fine in most communities, as long as it’s constructive and not personal.
The way it’s delivered probably matters more than the criticism itself. If it’s framed as feedback or a question rather than an attack, people are generally more open to it.

IDGAF about the admins or anything, if you are so certain, why do you not just post your questions, why the dramatic build up.

I was only telling you be respectful because I have seen what happens around here questioning mods and admins.

You’re acting like I staged a revolution.
It was literally just a question.
Instead of turning everything into noise, maybe try being useful. But judging by those 850+ posts in under a year, I guess quantity beats quality for you.;)

You can do all of this through Support.

In this community, complaining publicly about a specific warning or mod isn't permitted.

Worth remembering, as per the Terms of Use you agree to at sign-up:
"...our administrators and moderators reserve the right, but do not have any obligation, to issue warnings or bans as they see fit in their absolute discretion."
