I have tried submitting my post on reddit and it got around 40+ visitors. The question is, is this traffic worth it or is it the same as stumble upon?

Personally, I don't think that reddit traffic is worth much. The community despises anything spammy at all. Unless you have a user with fairly high karma posting about your service in a genuine way, you're going to get trolled.

Yes and no.
For blog posts -- they will have a high bounce rate + everything... but it is really easy to send 100+ visits just by submitting a link. (which takes 5 seconds)
Therefore, it's easy to send lots of traffic with reddit... but the traffic isn't super valuable. If you submit a good link to the right subreddit, the traffic is worth it. Like if you are trying to build an email list.

Reddit is literally the most annoying thing in the world to me. I tried submitting there after I built my first site and all hell broke loose. Those guys are crazy over there and they always think that someone is trying to game them. All that I posted was an informative medical article (no affiliate links/no banner ads even on the site at the time) and those guys went crazy calling me a spammer. I've never had a problem like that anywhere else. They are nuts over there. The traffic sucks and doesn't convert worth a crap, at least for me it didn't. It will drive your bounce rate up, like another person said. It's totally not worth the headache in my opinion, unless you have "funny" stuff to share. I hate reddit. I've had way better luck with getting traffic from Facebook.
