I have tried submitting my post on reddit and it got around 40+ visitors. The question is, is this traffic worth it or is it the same as stumble upon?

    Thanks

Personally, I don't think that reddit traffic is worth much. The community despises anything spammy at all. Unless you have a user with fairly high karma posting about your service in a genuine way, you're going to get trolled.

    Yes and no.

For blog posts -- they will have a high bounce rate + everything... but it is really easy to send 100+ visits just by submitting a link. (which takes 5 seconds)

Therefore, it's easy to send lots of traffic with reddit... but the traffic isn't super valuable. If you submit a good link to the right subreddit, the traffic is worth it. Like if you are trying to build an email list.

The owners of reddit are having a tough time monetizing its own traffic lol.

They're not making any profits so far. If anything, they're in the negative. I got this info from a reputable news tech site.

Well, did you know that if a tree falls in the forest and nobody's around, it does make a noise?

The Reddit community is more savvy than most. If you have something worthy to share, it's definitely worth it, but the more spammy it is, the less it's worth your time.

I agree with recent comments. If your content is of value, then absolutely.. 100+ views for 1 click isn't bad. But if you're doing anything remotely spammy they'll come down on you. They HATEEE any sort of content locking, popups etc.

Reddits are not worth the time spent. You might be better off working on Pinterest or Instagram for traffic

I have ways to bot reddit and gain really good amounts of traffic. If anyone has a good idea for monetizing (not just spaming crap) and is interested in a JV, hit me up.

Reddit is literally the most annoying thing in the world to me. I tried submitting there after I built my first site and all hell broke loose. Those guys are crazy over there and they always think that someone is trying to game them. All that I posted was an informative medical article (no affiliate links/no banner ads even on the site at the time) and those guys went crazy calling me a spammer. I've never had a problem like that anywhere else. They are nuts over there. The traffic sucks and doesn't convert worth a crap, at least for me it didn't. It will drive your bounce rate up, like another person said. It's totally not worth the headache in my opinion, unless you have "funny" stuff to share. I hate reddit. I've had way better luck with getting traffic from Facebook.

It is because you guys are playing with Reddit wrongly. It is important to be submerged completely in it's sub-culture for a few months. Anybody should know that Jennifer Lawrence is a plus -- and Nickleback is really not back.

Users from reddit can smell spam and scams a mile away. Of course I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but they are very techy and they will not go for the usual marketing tactics that work with the average computer user.

Reddit is a great place for traffic you have to be crafty in the way you push out your posts however. So just be aware of that. They are smarter audience and not susceptible than average user.

Yea it will have to seem more organic rather than spammy.
