Is Places Scout worth $147?

Is this software really worth the price tag?

I use Places Scout everyday to scrape service sectors in 5 different cities at a time (compiled a list from wiki page on population). Takes maybe an hour or two max, recaptcha is auto-solved by deathbycaptcha, $6 for 1000 recaptcha solves.

I started a high-end ORM company and currently service clientele that see long-term, high-spending customers. What Places Scout does for me specifically is:

Grab NAP (Name, Address, Phone #)
Find email address associated with the company
Get Google Review Ranking + number of reviews
Get general citation rankings + number of those

All while I'm at my day job pulling down double pay.
I VNC in to my home PC to get another search started after
the previous one finishes.

I've put Places Scout on PayPal credit, have been using it for months
and nothing's due until a long time from now. It's already paid for itself
many times over.

Don't listen to people who haven't used it. I use it daily, and I love it.
No I'm not being compensated to state this. I truly do appreciate all of
the time and obvious effort the programmer put in to this.

It's amazing. You've spent $150 on things before, most likely things you don't even use or have anymore.
You can read about everything the program does. If it doesn't feel like a fit, don't buy it.

If you have an inkling it can help you, buy it. You can't make money if you don't spend money.

We use PS for our Local SEO and ORM clients.

Hell yes it is. If you are in the offline arena I feel it's a must have. The software does so much for the price. It's $147/yr. Not $147/mo. They are raising the price soon though because the developer just did a major update and added a reputation management section to it.

Also, the developer updates regularly. He had the software updated and a release out within two days of the Google+ Local change.

Damn one of the best kept secrets let out of the bag. I commented a week after Places Scout was released and I purchased it that it was awesome. What it does for me is keeps me from outsourcing so much of this shit. I couldn't get a VA for one week to do what Places Scout does every week. $150 is too cheap to be honest. The guy is updating it all the time and it rocks if you want to dominate Google Places.

That being said - please don't buy it. I don't need any more competitors out there. Stick to that manual method please.

Their sales copy sucks. I read the WSO looking ad sales thingy and it looked like there were 4 components to it and I couldn't tell if the $147 was for each component or all 4. I don't trust loud, WF-style adverts. Instead of shouting what the sales copy writer wants them to shout, instead I read "DANGER ! SCAM ! STAY AWAY !".

I want my facts arranged calmly, neatly and reasonably. If I wanted to purchase colorful turds I would go to Warrior Forum and find them there. So, on the chance that Places Scout owner is reading this, you seriously need to fire whoever put that ad up, because that text was the only reason why I didn't buy a copy. Even with the positive reviews here (which I appreciate), I'm still not buying Places Scout until I see a lot more people that I trust endorsing it, because I already have the very strong impression that it's a piece of crap due to their own advertisement, which is pretty stupid if you think about it after all it's a tool to be used for people that are in marketing and instead of having an advertisement that makes the product appealing to marketing people (well, at least this marketing person) instead it has the exact opposite effect. You'd think their marketing people could sell to marketing people. Imagine a car company where car salesman refuse to by their cars, based on the way the company tries to sell their cars, and not because of the cars themselves.

They are starting 3 steps back with me. I can't trust a company that obviously hires the incompetent, and then (for whatever reason) continues using the results of that incompetent's efforts. Maybe it's a scam. Maybe it's a big loss-leader where they over-deliver in the very beginning (at a loss), then once the loud sales text ropes-in all the suckers, suddenly something changes, IDK. I don't trust them. They look like DP was their Daddy, and WF gave birth to them.

I use it and I don't use half its power. They just released a rep management tool

If u do offline and want to find clients its the best. Tells u if there's a site, places listing, etc. Beats doing it manually.

One new clients pays for itself 5 fold.

I use it daily. The new reputation management module is really good.

We run leads with it and then those are importing into our CRM for the sales people to call.

The people saying no, I can almost guarantee have never tried it.

Does Google Places scout works well after the new changes? I thought Google Places now is Google+Local

It works just fine. The developer had an update within two days of the change.

We use it every week. One of the better tools for tracking Map rankings...

It looks like it costs 197 now.

Is it 197 a 1 off or is it per year?

Anyone have experience with both PlacesScout and GPscraper? Would like to know how they compare to each other and the pros and cons of each.

i saw a thread on this at warrior forum - from what i was reading is that PlacesScout is best but Gscraper (with the new update) is still a good product - thread is pretty recent too. I think personally i will be investing in PlaceScout based off the reviews i read on a couple different forums. Remove spaces in URL...

I have it also, it's definitely does what it's suppose to do.

Looks good but expensive --- My guess is make some money first - manually and then invest in this
