Is perfection an illusion?

How do I stop being perfect?

You must put your ego aside and accept that mistakes is a good thing, without mistakes you have no idea if what you do is good or not.

Embrace the failures and doubts

Nothing exists in a perfect system. Life is a result of imperfections in the Universe.

Saturday

Sunny beach

Ice cold American Pale Ale beer and a Camel Light cigarette

I look at the sea

Then I look at my D

Then I fart

And then I ask the seminal question: "is perfection an illusion?"

Then an angel appears

She's got big tiddies and tiny shorts and says "would you like another beer Sir"

I say yeah.

Perfection exists.

As an ex-perfectionist, I can definitely vouch that it does not work. In the context of web development, your website can always be better, you can always do more of this and that and make a little bit better UX, etc. etc.

It's better to launch at 85% and then continue tweaking as you go than try to aim to that elusive 100% and only then launch. Besides that 100% is impossible to reach, your idea of perfection might be very very wrong. That feature you kept perfecting for ages and postponed the launch by 3 weeks because of that - users freaking hate it. And so on.

Be good, be better, but do not be perfect or even try. It's bad for your income and your mental health.

Perfection doesn't exist, it's a journey for people that want to waste time
