    Hi!
I whould like you to inform me if my web site is in the corect rankin in alexa based on the following details.
I have daily almost 9.000 unique visitors and my site is at 148.700 in alexa in the world while similar sites that i know of with less visitors are in a higher place than me!!!

Based on the records i gave you for my site is this ranking correct?

I would like your opinion and also if youn know for what reason other sites with less visits are higher!!!

Alexa is a useless metric for comparing sites in different niches.

Alexa rank is based on visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed. Sites in tech niches tend to get lower rankings than sites with less tech-savvy users. You could easily have a tech blog with 100 UVs a day with Alexa 100k and a fashion blog with 2000 UVs a day with a 500k Alexa.

So you mean that all depends on visitors who have the alexa toolbar?

I have the alexa toolbar instaled on four -five pc's and i dont think it is making a big difference...

Could something else be wrong in my case? Could i do something to get a better rank?

I know it useless but unfortunately a lot of people take that in mind...

anything less than 500,000 is getting fairly steady traffic - but it depends on the niche as to how it's viewed.

you can definately get a lower Alexa using Pr Storm or Scrapebox -- just get some free proxies and scrape up a list of related sites
and let it blast away - just repeat each day .... the lower you get the less effect it will have on your Alexa though.
