Is keyword research really that important in the beginning?

Hey everyone,

I am just starting out with SEO and feeling a bit confused.

I enjoy writing helpful content based on what I already know, but I keep hearing that keyword research is essential from day one.

As a beginner, is it okay to start without deep keyword research, or will that slow down my growth?

What approach worked best for you in the early stages?

Keyword research is one of the pillars of SEO. You can do without building backlinks immediately but can't skip keyword research.
 
You 100% need to know your keywords. What are your main keywords; How you structure your home page; how you structure your website url paths; how detailed you need to be. I suggest do the ahrefs seo for beginners course. It's free and only a few hours- you will get a general overview of how seo works.
Do it right from the beginning and you will have much better results.
 
The best approach is to find low competition keywords in your niche and write content around them.

How ? is not possible, you will make hard on you and lot of wok and effort without result.
and the worst thing you will waste your time and money.

Keyword research is absolutely important, otherwise how would you know what users are interested in?
Unless you just want to write for topics that come to your mind. Which in my opinion, is the fastest way to gamble away your time.
 
It’s totally fine to start without deep keyword research, especially as a beginner. If you create genuinely helpful content, you’ll still build momentum. Just check basic search interest before writing. You can add proper keyword research later once you get more comfortable.

At the early stage, you can fully focus on creating useful, high-quality, and natural content based on your knowledge to build a foundation and attract readers. Later, gradually incorporate keyword research to optimize SEO, identify high-potential topics, and increase visibility on search engines without disrupting your initial growth.
 
everyone is confused with seo at first. it feels like rocket science when you get into it but that is the price of learning and growth. it means you are getting familar with unfamiliar concept

the boring work is very important , keyword research is huge
