Is It Worth Buying and Selling 3D Printers?

I have more PayPal money than I know what to do with, but I'm afraid that PayPal will lock my account so I'm looking to unload it into some physical inventory. Dual extruder ready to print 3D printers sell around $400 a piece on eBay and I noticed that there weren't any on CL. Do you think that I could buy a couple of these and sell them for $500-$600 cash? Would you recommend buying something else for resale? Thanks!

a 3d printer might be pretty tough to sell, but do your research and see :) I am sure no one here will have a definite answer, but that is my 2 cents
 
Most likely to end with a 3D Printer, that you will not know what to do with it...In my opinion take something, that even if you don't resell it, well, you can take advantage of!
 
I'd say it's best if you plan to use it, or better yet invest in something.
Buy some gold, you'll never have problems selling it and it's not likely that you'll end up losing (much).
 
I'd say you can't flip something that isn't heavily promoted right now. I have had my eye on the Stratasys Objet 1000 for some time now, but not the $500k price tag to acquire it so easily.
 
Thanks guys for the responses so far. I'll be on the lookout for items that can be flipped easily. What sort of large items have you bought and flipped easily on Craigslist?

The easiest and fastest flip would be sneakers and/or electronics. If I had alot of money stuck in paypal, I'd goto a reputable sneaker group buy some Air yeezys and then resell for slightly below market value. Or buy a macbook/iphone on Amazon and resell on craigslist
 
If you're trying to shuffle funds around get computer components like a high-end monitors or graphics cards those will always sell and should hold value for at least a few months if nothing new is coming out.
 
You could make a fake CL listing to test the waters

I've already withdrawaled the $500 they let you per month.
 
Just don't try flipping 3d printers, they are harder to sell and every month a new company make better and cheaper 3d printers. Its really hard to have a 3d printers in inventory as the price is constantly reducing.

Hold on what? Paypal restricts you to 500 withdrawal a month? You mean as in cash withdrawal?

But like others said, 3D printer is a bad idea. Stick to things that are tried and true. Heck gaming consoles new on Amazon and sold on craigslist
 
If i were you i would invest my money, buy some sort of a machine and start manufacturing some small thing for start.
