Is it true that your Facebook page reach gets suppressed after joining the Content Monetization program?

I’ve heard many people say that their page’s reach dropped significantly after joining the Content Monetization program.
I have a page that has been enrolled in the Bonus Program for several years, and it’s true that its reach has dropped sharply since April for no obvious reason.

I currently have another newer page that is likely to be invited to join Content Monetization soon (thanks to the 300,000-view challenge), but I’m wondering whether I should join or try to monetize it through other methods instead, just to avoid having its reach suppressed.

yeah reach throttling after joining monetization programs is super common. meta wants you to run ads to keep those numbers up once they start paying u so monetize through third party sponssors or affiliate offers if organic reach is ur main priority tbh.
 
Give it a try, this is a new fanpage, you have many opportunities to try your hand at making money.
 
yes, that's true. this morning, I just read a post from a famous person. She said that the reach and follower counts have declined, and recommendations for new posts from the page are being limited.
I also don't know the reason why. you should try to contact with meta support.
 
u can try to test 1 page in advance. If u don't give it a try, how will you know what the potential is, right?
 
I wouldn’t decide based on reach alone watch how the new page performs after joining and compare the numbers over a few weeks

If you have other methods to monetize the page I'd advise using those. If I was in your shoes I wouldn't want to loose the page's reach.
 
Meta often encourages and wants us to run paid ads to increase reach, so there will be limitations when you participate in opportunities to try making money. If you are confident in achieving good conversions on your site, then it won't be a problem.
 
The decline in reach could stem from the algorithm, quality/content, or engagement levels.
