Is it true that automated backlink generation tools are so effective?

I've been introduced to a number of applications that will automatically search for and produce a large number of backlinks for your website with only a few clicks.
Its monthly cost is also exorbitant.
Is it truly that good?
Does anyone have any ideas?

when used properly all SEO tools are worth the money. Now, if you're thinking of using a backlinking software to automatically build links directly to your money site think again! If you're pointing those links to tier 2-3 links, however, the investment is justified.... well, as long as it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, as they say :)

I heard the opposite of that. I heard that they do more harms than good and you really must avoid them for your money site, but they might be good for churn and burn projects.
Exorbitant, like how much ?

Let's both wait for experts opinions.

One way to test viability is write a few of your own macros for making some social profiles. Pick one site, and write a macro using Pulovers Macro Creator etc, see how much time it takes you to do it and run it/debug.
Then compare the time taken to do it manually vs time taken if you make your own macro vs what your hourly rate is right now. That ought to give you a fair idea of whether getting an automated solution is 'worth it' or not.
Moving forward, if you do decide to get a tool, get one that has a large community of users on this and other BH forums, one that continues to be vetted by many people (XRumer is one such example).
 
If you are getting it for free, try on new projects but do not use for money site.
 
Automated backlink generation tools are effective, if you know how to use it. like: tier link building, rank parasites, boost social & YT.
 
It depends how you use them for it being effective or not .

For example GSA your site or money site directly be kind of stupid in most cases but if you were to use GSA links on say Tier 2 or Tier 3 it should be okay as long as you use some sense and practice it enough or other automatic link building softwares

Plenty of people use GSA to post links straight at their money site. Mainly with custom engines, or a VERY filtered list, but I hear from plenty of people still spamming with success.
 
Yes, tools like GSA,rankerx and scrapebox works very well for creating backlinks.
If it does not work they did not be so much popular in market

Not many overall I can only name for 4 people who do it still the ones doing have it reprogrammed so it's not looking for rubbish links all high quality ones.
 
I am a serious beginner and i wish to have tutorials on How do these tools work and how to use these tools carefully. If some expert can link it up here it would be of great help thank you.
