Is it that easy to take down a site?

Ddos is just noob way .
Good websites will ban you with apache for some hours so it's difficult to know if you took down the site or if the site ban you .
And with groups like 4-chan and there ddos operations with LOIC software , many webmaster are aware of this now

This should be moved to the childrens and script kiddies department. Its so lame taking down a site.

Most people with any decent server config will have their server block your connections for a few hours if you send to many connections.

This is POINTLESS, spend more time concentrating on your own sites, then you won't have to worry about the competitors.

And please don't give the OP stupid ideas about using kiddie tools, because he might try them and get caught in a second.

"firewalls" "apache configuration".. etc. Yes these can protect you from the methods that need a connection to the server to overload it and most of these kiddie style methods.

I'm afraid someone will give him a real advice or worse, a tool ready to use. It's like giving a loaded gun to a chimpanzee.

If the OP wants to know how to take down any website the only advice I can give is to get deep understanding about various tcp stack implementations, bgp and things like that. Start reading and learning. Will take some time. As soon as you have deep understanding on this field you just don't want to do it.

This time is better spent learning a lot of other useful things on this forum.

google : slowloris HTTP dos , you can down any site with this , but it doesnt work on Windows you have to install Back Track with some plugins so the tool will work perfectly

No, it's not that easy to take down a server just with pinging. This is not 1995 so Ping of Death can work anymore.

I was just asking if it's that easy because I was pinging a site without proxies switched on and saw it not responding, so I checked with different network; same thing. It's not like I'm some dumb kid pinging shit on purpose as a hobby, just a mistake which made me curious. Chill the f*ck out.

Just ask yourself: Would you be happy if someone else made it to your website??? Concentrate rather on your profits and not waste your time doing such a sh*t to other people involved in IM...
