As others said, it's NY. You take a cab. It's what you do in areas that allow cars and parking. It's just what you do in NY, cause it's a big place. Also islands.

I live in Brooklyn and I been to a few Basketball games and concerts at Barclays. Taking the subway there is safe (it's still an NYC subway though), the immediate area is safe, but once you wander a few blocks away from Barclays, it gets ghetto.
