Say you have two sites in the same niche, is it possible to move already published articles from one site to the other?

Yeah the articles are indexed on the old site, but the old site isn't performing as well as it should.of course. But you'll have to do the 301s correctly if you want to keep the older articles' rankings / traffic, otherwise you're screwed.
If the articles don't rank yet (or they're not indexed in google) you can do whatever you want with them
I'll definitely tweak the articles and make them betterIf you are going to do this, then edit the articles. Add several new paragraphs, make the start of the article brand new and unique.
Use some new headings too. This might work for you, as I think more that duplicate content tends to be a worry if it's on the same site, ie keyword cannibalization as opposed to articles very similar being on 2 different sites.
Yup, I have a completely new site on a new domain which I want to host the moved articles onSure, you can clone the content of your existing site and move it to another one. But I would also recommend that you choose a new domain name for your new blog (and Publish New Fresh Content). A lot of people think that moving articles is a simple thing and they manage to do it without too much trouble. However, if you want your blog to google SERP, then it's better to modify the articles, otherwise after few days you will get Re-USE content penalty.
That is up to you if you want to do this. As I say, I now think a lot of people overthink the duplicate content theory. If I use the removal request feature in search console first, will this solve the duplicate content issue?
well, do you care about those articles being in the index or not? If you do, you need to 301 them. If you don't care about them (and by the way, even if you don't 301 them they might still get indexed on the new site with the right SEO done to them, but it might take time) then don't 301 them!So would it still be a good idea to use 301 redirects?

Please use the multi-quote function if possible, as it makes the threads flow much easier. How to multi-quote can be found here Newbie GuideYup, I have a completely new site on a new domain which I want to host the moved articles on
Yes, of course you MUST apply 301 redirects to old articles urls to redirect them to the new destination url. Never miss this step.So would it still be a good idea to use 301 redirects?
Well, I suggest you do not need to use the remove request feature. If you have applied 301 redirect correctly, it should take care of itself in due course of time. Do not worry about duplicate content issue, Google has stopped punishing for "duplicate content" and in your case, since you are already using 301 redirect you are already safe.If I use the removal request feature in search console first, will this solve the duplicate content issue?
