It's most definitely possible, but the probability of you achieving this in a year is pretty much abysmal.
You'd need to be extremely skilled at what you do, and even then, you can't even properly scale your business without at least some income or capital.
But I guess this doesn't count as starting from zero, because you already know something a lot of other people don't (running traffic, preferably free).

Then do you mean 1mil in sales on in pure profit? Which ever the case maybe, it's possible, IF you have extensive knowledge/skills and experience in the field you are trying to make your mil in, or an excellent unique idea and means to source capital. If you have little to no capital and no experience/knowledge, then the answer is no.
