it is but i don't think it worth the hassle . you can purchase cheap domain like .xyz etc

Possible but usually it backfires you when you buy domains from trick like you may buy the domain for free and then they ask for verification and other things and possibly you will lose the domains.

some websties offer free domains but not the tlds, but you can lose them anytime, so its better to buy one
