I am recently starting learning SEO and trying to optimize a few pages on my website , but i am bit confused about how keywords should be used .

Is it okay to use the same keywords on multiple pages , or will that affect my rankings in a bad way

Avoid using the same keyword on multiple pages, it's causes keyword cannibalization. Target one main keyword per page and use variation.

Nah, you should definitely avoid that because it leads to keyword cannibalization which just confuses google about which page to rank. Better to focus each page on unique, long-tail variations so you don't end up competing against yourself
