Is it bad to post articles before they are finished?

How long after you post them do you finish them? I suppose if your site is indexed slowly or new, I wouldn't stress about it too much assuming you complete the articles as soon as possible.
If you need to see how the featured image will look on a slider, why not just create your featured images to the size that the slider uses (or post disposable test article to see how the images will look)?

As long as it doesn't take days to finish them I can't see it having any effect

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's any issue with that. I've even heard of people making changes to their pages months down the road to fix keyword density penalties and having success with the changes.

I thought this would be better? I read on moz or somewhere that its better to keep content up to date (rather than set and forget)(Cant remember how long ago this article was though). As long as its not like a place holder page where you have the title and a few sentences, but a large amount of content that your changing just little bits. You'll also get the benefit of indexing earlier.

If you just want to see them, I think it will not take much time, so no effect. You can see. No worry.

It's always advisable to publish the articles after the completion for better results in search engines. You can also put incomplete article, but one thing keep it mind you have completed it in a limited duration of time. If you want good results.
