I'm watching myself carefully for paranoia but I don't think it's that.
Background: I'm growing my IG account naturally using the bodybuilding niche. Having lots of fun. Been at it for around a month and a half. Goal is to monetize. I currently have 3,300+ followers.
I don't have a day job so I like and follow throughout the day. 50 follows every 90 minutes. Maximum of 200 follows per day (my Followings are not quick, 3-10 seconds break between each follow).
I've been using this method for a couple of weeks now. I always get follows back right after and more throughout the day. Occasionally (maybe twice per week) during mid day, after following for awhile, maybe 90 people, I get absolutely no follows back for around 2 hours. It's extremely peculiar.
The next day is fine. I never receive any message from Instagram. The likes still roll through regardless.
I've been mystified and paranoid for weeks now.
Either:
1) Instagram is reducing my visibility temporarily. I've tripped some algorithm wire and I've been softly flagged as spamming.
2) Instagram is being glitchy, which I've found it's been doing a lot lately. (Ie: old hashtag comments on my own photos temporarily being exposed even though multiple comments by people have been made afterwards), (When searching a hashtag, and I click on a specific Top Post photo, I try to scroll down, only to find IG preventing me, and page moves erratically). I could go on for a while lol.
Any insights BHW??
