Is hashtags really a thing these days?

Hi guys!

Do you still use hashtags? do you feel it helps with exposure?

Wondering if there's a point in still using it.

I’ve been wondering the same thing, seems like the only thing they are good for is to get free retweets or like by bots. Atleast on twitter.

If you pick the right hashtags based on their difficulty (average likes, posts, et cetera), then yes, you can rank for some hashtags and definitely have very good results.
 
Hashtags work for me on Twitter. But unless your content interests the audience intended for that particular hashtag, you're wasting your time. User intent matters.
 
They work great for some sites to target/find the right content.
Instagram would be among the first.
Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin in a way lesser amount.
Redditors aren't using them.
 
Hashtags are still working good for Instagram.
If your account is relatively small, target smaller hashtags and don't overdo it.

are they relevant, not as much as they use to be.
do they still work? yes, if you target audience is big enough.

What do you mean by big enough ? With 10k followers I had 3 posts who bring me 150 / 280 / 320 followers just with hashtags
 
Hashtags works, I get from them really good reach
 
On Instagram they r a thing for sure. I use around 5 of them per post. This is from a fresh account:

On Twitter, hashtags seem to work for me. Sites that are scrapping seem to use them and normally get a backlink from it
 
@Lilach86 First, look at what hashtags your competitors are using. It can give you an idea then you have some tools that can help you
 
Hashtags still work great. You should target the right audience.
