Is Google spamming its own SERPs??

If you guys can rank up easily in a given SERP why you think a billionare company investing millions on R&D like Amazon can't do a better work than you?

We all have seen that every search for a commercial product leads to a billion TripAdvisor, Ebay, Amazon and other big brand sites.

What are the odds that Google is getting affiliate commissions for these search results?

Notice how every outgoing link from Google search results is a big ass string containing a hash linking to all the crap they spied out of you. That hash can easily be an affiliate tracking link.

It'd be trivial to have private contracts between these big brands and Google for them to get privileges in the SERPs.

The reason I ask is we all know Google search results are not natural. They throttle traffic, control commercial traffic to their will, etc. Give me one good reason why Google wouldn't be cashing in on this massive spam? Suddenly Amazon and Ebay, both of which have affiliate programs, are dominating SERPs and we're supposed to believe all that traffic is FREE??

I say it's not free. What say you?

The thing is... All the sites you listed a decent, trustworthy & reliable sites. So why wouldn't Google want them in their search results, commission or not?

That's not the point. The point is : are these sites paying for SERP referrals or not?

Amazon/Ebay/Big Reputable Brands = More Satisfactory Transactions (than smaller stores and what not)
More Satisfactory Transactions = More Happy Users
More Happy Users = More Returning Users
More Returning Users = More Googlers
More Googlers = More Adwords Revenue

No constantly being bombarded with the same old shite everytime you search for anything and I mean anything, does not make a good search engine. I find myself more and more using other search engines now as Google has gone pathetic.

The reason is Thrustworty, brand, Biggest site, good reputation, etc

This is the only site I know that constantly questions and dislikes Google...
thank God for that. Everywhere else is Google worship or rooting for more Google domination and growth.

I think Google will grow and has grown too big for its own sake and for the sake of the internet. Unfortunately, the average and common internet user doesn't care so billions of searches will be done on Google everyday.

Isn't it weird that Google wants a piece of everything lately? Nearly every industry Google wants to have some sort of hand in... and they seem to always want to ultimately control it or dominate it. It's like an internet monopoly is beginning to happen.

Search quality has definitely gone down, and this is very recent. First page results for nearly any keyword is always big business or big money and almost never the most relevant website.

You don't know many sites do you ;) ? Read some of the latest social media posts about Google...they're in the hot seat my friend....

Really? Besides bashing the big YouTube changes lately, I see a lot of popular tech sites, blogs and forums praising Google like they're the deity.

You know those links to amazon and all the other sites contain encryption that prevents your analytics account from receiving what keywords they used to get to your site. So before they encrypted the links, you could log on analytics and find out exactly which terms were used to find your site. Now you can't and that is because that long string of text.

They could care less about those affiliate referral pennies.

And yeah, the only reason why people are pissed is because they finally took away our search data. The only other people I see bitching are those that got hit because they used obvious link methods and spammy looking On-Page SEO. Read their webmaster forum and you'll see that every one of them had the same setup.

Do I like them? Yes and No. They show great results and do a very good job. But I just don't like their disrespect towards the webmasters that made them what they are today.
