Is Facebook getting desperate?

Facebook is screwing thing for most of the people with there open privacy and BS TOS.
Its a matter of time when FB will collapse just Like Orkut did once and lately google realised. But we need something unique not something similar to facebook but something that has a unique concept and somthing that care about user privacy more than advertisers.
Anyway g+ can be the alternative as its slow now very good GUI as far as i think.

And back in 2006 people were saying "FB will live forever"... tzzzeeeehhhh.....

as Laubster said a lot of kids/teens are moving towards twitter and I'm guessing that's because of the low char count of the tweets. The biggest trend on FB now is Vine (a 7 second clip) which means people are being "educated" towards a low attention span hence the massive migration towards networks that require less and less engagement.

FB will never die and just as a heads up... hipsters started using myspace once it went down so it's obvious that

hey a butterfly

Its not going to die like myspace died. Not yet at least.

Myspace died because facebook was better. Whats better than facebook right now?

who cares about facebook, if facebook is declining its good, stop complaining about it.

this means there is a opening in the market, find it and build it. or wait for it and make tons of money like when facebook just started out

who's complaining! I would love to see Suckerbug's site die like orkut :D

No one is exactly complaining, we are just bringing the facts, we're all marketers here and really wanna know where our money is going now!

In my case it would be better if Facebook died. Because we manage very big companies and after Facebook made it so easy with the ads to reach people, many companies started hiring cheap in-house managers and started skipping us. Now that social media is moving to Twitter and Instagram, they're becoming dependent again. I think A LOT of people in this forum will be happy if Facebook fades away, maybe not everyone tho.

I am sick of Facebook and hate their large share of the market. I would like to see it decline and open up
more opportunities for more websites to advertise and market with. Yeah sure its the basic mechanics of things
whatever goes up must come down.

This is correct, the mosyt greedy and dirty company owns the biggest part of the market, and yeah at some point it's going down, not a fast as myspace, but its going down

They are desperate with making huge revenue. Again, people also placing ads more and more. I think all gonna mess up so soon.

I can honestly understand facebook's desperation, they have to take measures to survive. They will eventually die off but just not very soon as yet...

It happened to MySpace, then Orkut. I think it will happen to Facebook too, but not for a couple of years. MySpace or Orkut never reached the peak Facebook has right now. And yeah, its true that most teens are dumping facebook for twitter, instagram as older people and parents have started using it.

Difference is that Facebook came along and smashed MySpace in the ground. Nothing else is competing well with Facebook and
challenging it. Just look at how much money and effort Google has put into Google+ yet it is nothing compared to the market share
Facebook enjoys. Even if people get tired of Facebook where are they going to go for an alternative?

Yeah it really sucks when only 10% of your post are actually being seen by people who liked your page unless you toss out big bucks...G+ is already big but the thing is you won't be able to market in G+ like you can in FB...who wants to risk losing their email account as well as auto banning your urls from the serps...not me.
