Is EMD Important For Your Website?

Yes, as of late there is an EMD overhaul that may influence EMD space on the off chance that you over-enhance your site you will get punished by EMD redesign. The most ideal way is utilize non-EMD space with respect to now.

I believe EMD's can in any case be a decent segment in a general method however as jpweber brings up, it relies on upon the substance. The destinations who were punished that were utilizing EMD's were not thumped out of the SERP's on account of they were utilizing EMD's but since they were utilizing other flawed strategies and happened to likewise be utilizing EMD's too.

Good luck!!

If the EMD is available then go with it ! It has always worked for me and still working good.

In my view:

1. EMd for low competition keyword it still works well. I even recently seen new site with emd ranking 1st for less competitive local business like "plumping + city name".
2. EMD good for all run and resale value. Also google bold keyword in SERP so you url word bolded has it have keyword in it which increase your CTR. Also many click result with search keyword in the url. so really help in Click through rate
3. For high competitive / medium competitive keyword EMd is no more helping in boosting rank.

my takeway, If you get a emd domain why miss it just register it but don't invest hell of money for buying it in secondary market. Also go for .com if not avail then go for .net, .org

EMD's with low quality took a hit recently. But EMD's with quality content still rank pretty well.

Doesn't matter. Rather than EMD you should buy an Old domain. This will help you in getting your website rank high in SERP.

It is one of the ranking factors for Google, long time ago it was very important, now it is still important but Google is really paying less attention to it.

It's still important in the long run. If your project isn't churn n burn, then in the long run your EMD will get a great boost for your brand. But for quick projects it's no longer useful, as websites are taking 6 months to a year to get out of the EMD sandbox.

A great boost for brand? or for site? no longer useful? really? To get out of the EMD sandbox, really take 6 months to a year? Why? It is really take long time.

An exact match domain, or EMD, is a domain that is highly relevant to the content of your website and more specifically, exactly matches the keyword a person uses when searching for your content. An exact match domain can be a location, food, type of drink, business name or anything else that a user might be searching for. There is a debate about the effectiveness of exact match domains. Those that use them, swear by them, while others believe that the content on the page is the most important factor. Indecisiveness about whether or not you need an exact match domain can cripple you and prevent you from achieving the results you want from your website. This article is going to break through the hype, hysteria and myths about exact match domains and give you the information you need to make the right choice for your website domain name.

EMD still good as far is i know, but like other said, brandable domain was a good choice if you want to rank on much keywords
