Nowadays there are so many content writers who claim to write high-quality articles. I wonder if they are really capable of writing top-notch articles, why don't they earn money via Adsense or other ads by building an authority site?

1. Most people are mediocre at the services they offer. Everyone says that they are great, but most are usually average. This is true not just for content writing, but for everything.

2. Building an authority site is difficult and time consuming. People want money now rather than later.

3. There is a lot more that goes into building an authority website than content. For good results, you also need effective web design and development, good marketing, keyword research, onpage and offpage SEO, outreach to other sites, social media marketing and management, administrative support, and many other aspects of website management.

4. Monetization is difficult. Adsense and pay per click/impression/other sorts of advertisements need a lot of traffic if you want to make real money. You can get better money with smarter monitization methods, such as selling your own services on your website, selling eBooks, doing affiliate marketing, and so on. Those things are more complex.

5. Running your own website has higher risk. You can make more money if you do it correctly, but can also lose money if you do it poorly.
 
Same reason why people offer link building services, PBNs etc. Building sites is time consuming and having all the whole skillset required is another matter on its own. There is money to be made selling services and that's what some people do.
 
in my experience a lot of people who say they are good are actually not even good and they most often do not show results. I would recommend doing everything by yourself and perfecting it if you truly want to rank in google or whatever your goal is.

You can also ask this question: why do people sell micro niche sites and keywords when they can just bank off of them?

It's because:

1. "Earn $1000+/m passive" is just pure marketing bull crap and they probably couldn't get a site ranking and banking like that themselves which is why they're selling premade sites or "dreams."

Selling stuff to "make money" is a common way to make money easier, as it's a fail-proof way. You write, deliver, get pai. With a site of their own, however, you must write, pay for hosting, domain, links, etc, and then wait for the hopes of ranking, then wait 2 months to get paid.

2. The writing/keywords they sell are also shit. Those "high quality" writers have tried making a site but can't get it to rank or make visitors convert, so they are just selling their shit writing to customers. Same with keywords, some are never meant to be ranked with a low budget and the BSTs that state "you only need content" are pure bs, they'll never be able to rank the keywords they're selling with no links either.

But overall, it's different on a case by case basis, but the observations I made above are for the sellers in general, so please don't take offense the actual good writers out there.
 
Content writing is an Art. Its a natural instinct that gets built by looking into the image or the video or any other source material for which the content is written. You may be a natural in specific areas and might require training in some. But unless your interest is in the place where you write the content its difficult to get through it. So, my suggestion would be to ensure that you get into content writing of specific type based on your interest area.
 
Its not necessary if they are good writer, they will be a good marketer as well to earn via adsense or affiliates. A person must write an extra ordinary piece but not necessary can market that easily to earn some bucks. You can easily see the writer's work quality by reading few paras, or to share with your colleague in that niche to have the review.
 
Most of so-called freelancers and writers out there are just spinning articles. Those content they deliver seems structured, but not really readable.
If you want to just stuff content on your page, then they could be an option for content resources; but if you seek to high quality content that really helps your visitors, hire a copywriter or just generate great articles yourself.
 
Yes, there is a demand of good writer. But the writing must be informative & qualitative.

Actually, many people want to start blogs to earn money by Adsense or any other networks. Then the need of content writers is increased. So, they turned into the content writer.
 
yes. content writing is good work. content writing is depends upon your writing skills, for good content you just follows these step
Tittle tag Meta tag, quality content
 
Why they mention they are great:

* They need to sell. On a sales thread do you expect them to write "Hi, we write crap articles"
* People over-estimate their own writing skills.

Why don't make their own sites:

* They don't know how
* They tried and failed
* Selling is more lucrative for them
* They are chasing the dream of being a high priced content writer, which can make more money than a authority website.
* They have day jobs and write as a hobby

Ask for samples so you can see what to expect.

There are non native writers who are better than native ones in some cases.

If you're working with an agency and you find a great writer, insist on keeping with that one person.
 
It would be technically incorrect to assume that top writers are only writing for you, and not for their own projects. I cannot tell about others but I always have 2 projects up and running on the side.

Don't forget I take on copywriting projects as well as tend to my SEO clients.

The trick lies is effectively scheduling your working hours, so as to optimize your man-hours which results in increased productivity.
 
Well when it comes to content writing, it depends on you that are you able to maintain the pace of writing, writing is something creative though you can use tools to improve it but still if you capable of writing things in cool way than be confident and write the way you want than i can assure it can compete the market.
 
Content writing is one of the most important marketing strategies, but to find the good copywriter is a tough job. Freelance websites offer many of them, but search for quality content creator shows quite meager results.
As for a website, they don't need it actually, Facebook and LinkedIn are quite enough for a strong profile creation.
 
I spent five years running an online marketing business and earned a living from e-courses and ebooks (I wrote the original "The Linkbuilders Bible" and it was my main income source).

But what I found I liked was WRITING.

What I found tedious was EVERYTHING ELSE!

So I decided to focus on my strength and passion.

And apparently I'm pretty good at it.

Yeah, it's true most Writter are mediocre or average.
Anyways, there are good writers, find someone who has enough time and native language is English.
Just remember there are good writers but few of them are legit awesome.
