Is content really the king in SEO

Well in my experience so far, content IS the king afterall. You may get good SERP following a linking method but in long run, your content is what that is gonna make you a king. Take examples of the sites there who are making real whitehat money. They are leading the industry because they have content that people would love to read/download. Google also suggests that obviously. Anyone would suggest that for that matter.

I am a huge fan of telling people and my clients that content matters. The reason I stress this
point is because it really does make a difference. Really I will turn down initial local or online clients
based on a lack of content, on-site SEO, or just poorly written articles.

Still you can pretty much hang up superb rankings based on content alone. For large authority sites
I like to keep forcing Google to rank me based on fresh daily articles. Once I pretty much peak in the
SERPS based on my articles I will switch over to the safest methods of link building.

Bottom line is you need a little bit of everything to rank. Not one single tactic no matter how good it is! :)

I like the post about Content=King, Backlinks=Queen, Social=Dirty Mistress.

Like another user mentioned, that once the user actually clicks onto your site, unless the content is what they want they will simply bounce.

Quote from Mad Men:

"Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It's freedom from fear. It's a billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you're doing is OK."

IM is not much different.

Conetnt do work but not that much. I have ranked sites with spun content. May Be if you keep posting content for 5 years, Google may give you value.

I believe we all have different definition to Content !

Anyway, Good Keyword Research + Prefect On Page optimization = Great place in SE to start from. Slight push with Backlinks and your will be there. Check PHPbuilt Authority Website Thread, it covers all of this

It's true. It depends also on quality, competition, domain age, and other factors. But content is very important.

Competition is more important than the quality of the content. For example if you find a low comp KW in any language but your own, you can simply use G Translate to get new content. If your KW Comp is low you will rank for it. I've done this 3 times before with micro niche sites.

Well content is King indeed, but have u ever seen any king build their empire alone? :) Or have a bunch of bitches with him.

Your content strategy is a lot like trying to pick up a girl. You need the initial "bait" but then there are several other things you need to do in order to seal the deal.

So, let's compare...

Operation Attract Links/Get Laid

Step 1.

Attract Links: Write a really good piece of content - 2k-3k blog post jam packed with awesome info and images.
Get Laid: Drive a Porsche

Pros: You have the base to attract what you want

Cons: This alone isn't going to get you what you want

Step 2.

Attract Links: Get social - share your content on social media - tag other influencers to introduce them to your content, hoping they share as well, expanding your reach.
Get Laid: Get social - picture of you in the Porsche - message hot girls to say hi - no "hard selling."

Pros: You aren't in their face...simply introducing them to what you are about.

Cons: Some will ignore you. Fuck 'em and keep at it.

Step 3.

Attract Links: Outreach - reach out to places you want links from. Numbers game - the more you reach out to, the more that will say 'yes'.
Get Laid: Talk to as many girls as possible. Numbers game - the more you reach out to, the more that will say 'yes'.

Pros: Eventually some will say 'yes' - you just have to be consistent.

Cons: Takes work - those who get frustrated being turned down won't make it.

Step 4.

Attract Links: Offer something of value. Guest post or give the site an infographic.
Get Laid: Take a girl to dinner.

Pros: Better chance of getting what you want.

Cons: Requires your time and effort (and some $$).

Step 5.

Attract Links: Earn links.
Get Laid: Screw her brains out.

Pros: You got what you want

Cons: None. (Unless you knocked her up)

...good luck

Content wins in niches that are relatively low competition. In all other cases, content is the queen, backlinks the king.

Content is a backbone of any sites so just focus on content quality.

The simple philosophy what I think is people love to read in Internet and they want to disseminate and for that content plays vital role. :)

Just a curious question,
if you create great quality links,

isn't the content you created a backlink back to your own site?
wouldn't google take that into consideration?

Thanks
